Bertuzzi gives it away.

I gotta like the way AbdelKader hit the guy and dropped his gloves. Somebody has to do that in a game like this to show some passion and send a message for next game. Unfortunately, it had to be him, a 'rookie' and not some grizzled veteran.

There he goes again. He can play for me any day. Where are the tough guys like Bertuzzi and Holmstrom? Oh, sorry, Swedes won't do it.

Abdel Kader lands a good combination on Yandle after being taken down. Fans throw octopi on the ice. We're going back to Phoenix for all the marbles folks. This game is done.

Useless bastard Bertuzzi takes a shot with :45 seconds left in the game. Jovo owned his fat @$$ in the series. Helm gets the goal, his first of the playoffs.

Game 7! Its much better to play Game 7 on the road. Better focus and less crowd pressure for the away team.

Kudos to the Yotes for taking this to game 7. Their season was on the line and they responded with great hockey in the 2nd and 3rd periods. They withstood the 1st period onslaught, managed to score a SHG, and then punish us with PPGs ...

Good to see the Canucks go through. Take a look at this:

The Canucks advance as expected. Luongo was stellar and D Sedin came through. Tough to stop those guys over a series, you can only hope to contain them with outstanding and consistent defensive locks. Los Reyes aren't there yet. Maybe next year. Good to see at least one Canada-based team make it past the first round.

Anything can happen in game 7 in the desert on Tuesday. Babcock must mix some of the line combination to come up with better matchups when Hank's on the ice. Hank is outstanding when it comes to defending against top opposition scorers, but runs out of space when defended against as our top scorer. Hank can take more shots on goal with more favorable matchups, thread some great passes through, and even when not scoring in an otherwise active shift, create opportunities for the 3rd and 4th lines. Sadly Bertuzzi has been completely useless in front of goal so those passes need to reach a better player. Pavel has handled Hanzal well so I'm not worried there, but he needs support turning Aucoin and Lepisto who have been simply outstanding defensively. It would be good to put some speed on his wings, Helm or Miller perhaps.

Also something has to be done about their revitalized PP with former Wings Schneider and Lang putting their experiences to use.

In the end, Canucks prevail as expected. I thought LA would stretch to Game 7. They are obviously too young and this was their first playoff experience. They will be better next year. Canucks roll four fabulous lines. They are built for playoffs. We await the second round match-ups now. I think Red Wings will pull it together in Game 7. Coyotes are big, strong, skilled and fast- a playoff team. No wonder they have strecthed it to Game 7. How important is the first goal in Game 7?

Habs-Caps today. Halak will be the story either way. Caps are under big time pressure. I gotta watch the Bruins-Sabres. I hope both these series goes to Game 7. We need to heal up a lot of bodies. Extra rest is good for a team that has played so many games in last two years.

Spirited Bruins upset the Sabres and advance and the Habs force game 7 with the best hockey they've played in the series so far. Hawks lead the Preds 4-3 after 1, great game there with the Preds coming back strong.

HLs from Wings-Yotes G6. Stuart turned the puck over (as usual) during our PP, resulting in their SHG. His turnovers also contributed to a couple of other backbreaking goals for the opposition. Just when I was starting to praise him for a solid series:

Preview of G7. We haven't won a game 7 on the road in 56 years and they're 0-4 in game 7s:

Quote:
Red Wings-Coyotes Preview
Associated Press

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - While on their way to 50 wins and their first playoff berth since 2002, the Phoenix Coyotes were labeled a feel-good story and a Cinderella.

They believe a Game 7 win Tuesday will show they're much more.

"We just don't want to be, 'Oh, this is a nice story.' We want to be a good team and a good team for a long time," coach Dave Tippett said. "You get in situations like this, it can push you ahead."

A series victory would be the Coyotes' first in six attempts since moving from Winnipeg to Arizona for the 1996-97 season and the franchise's first since 1987.

The Detroit Red Wings, meanwhile, are trying to stay alive for a third straight trip to the Stanley Cup finals and to avoid a second straight series loss after holding a 3-2 lead. They failed to close out Pittsburgh in last season's finals and that 2-1 defeat is still on the minds of the Red Wings.

"I'm more or less still mad about last year's Game 7," said backup goalie Chris Osgood, last season's starter. "None of that even has a bearing on this game in Phoenix."

The Coyotes are hosting the first Game 7 of these NHL playoffs, but home ice hasn't meant much in this series. The road team has won four of the six games so far.

Tippett said he believes being the host will matter Tuesday.

"Home-ice advantage is only good if it comes down to a Game 7," he said. "We worked hard to get home-ice advantage. If you're going to play a Game 7, I'd rather play it in front of our home fans."

Detroit coach Mike Babcock said after Game 5 he didn't want to "tempt fate" with another game in Glendale and echoed those comments after Game 6.

"No question about it, when you have anybody down you want to get rid of them," said Babcock, who opted not to practice Monday.

Still, his confidence in his team hasn't been shaken.

"They're a good team, but we think we're a better team," Babcock said. "The better team advances, pure and simple."

Whichever team moves on will finally end an undesirable streak.

The Red Wings haven't won a Game 7 on the road since a 1964 victory at Chicago in the opening round.

The Coyotes are 0-4 in Game 7s and have scored a combined one goal in those contests.

Captain Shane Doan is the only remaining member of the last Phoenix team to reach a Game 7 - 1999 against St. Louis - and it remains to be seen if he will participate in this one.

Doan hasn't played since his right shoulder took the brunt of his collision with the endboards early in the second period of Game 3.

He went through his first full practice Monday since suffering the upper-body injury, but he remains a game-time decision.

"I tested it. It feels pretty good. We'll see," he said.

Despite not playing, Doan has still found a way to be a presence.

"Doaner's been really good around the dressing room while he's not in," Derek Morris said. "He's made guys stay positive. He had a really emotional speech, a good speech for us before the game (Sunday). Guys took it to heart."

Phoenix scored five goals, its series high, but Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard said the Coyotes "got lucky."

"I'll take that same luck tomorrow," Robert Lang responded.

Detroit will be leaning heavily on its experience. The Red Wings are 4-4 in Game 7s since 1991, when their streak of 19 straight postseason appearances started. They have won seven of their last eight series and haven't lost in the first round since 2006, Babcock's first season in Detroit.

"We have a mentally strong group," said Kris Draper, one of seven Red Wings players who have won multiple Stanley Cups. "We have a lot of leadership, a lot of experience, a lot of playoff games under our belt and now these are the experiences that we're going to draw from."

Halak ! Halak ! Halak ! That was the most stupendious, outrageous, unreal piece of goaltending I have witnessed in a long long time. What a performance by him. The Habs speed is real scary. Caps in their infinite wisdom led by porky Bordreau were more worried about setting up Semin than doing the right thing. Their PP became predictable. Backstrom is a great player. The more I watch him, the more I am impressed with him, and I think its time for him to lead from front. How about that loud mouth dumb idiot Semin? 1 pt in the whole series! What is so great about him ?

East is being turned upside down. No.2 bounced by Flyers, and now No.3 Sabres by Bruins. Habs have got tremendous momentum now. It is imperative that habs score the first goal and Caps will implode from the pressure, a la Game 7 last year, when we beat them silly at their home. If they score first, they will have beleif again, and Habs don't want that.

How about that P.K.Subban? he didn't look out of place at all. I just love the way when Habs go in attack mode. They all fly in a single file. I swear, if I didn't have my Pens, I would be their no.1 fan.
