Match Thread: BD vs Zimb, Test 2, Day 2
My 2 cents about this test is that Bangladesh will do well if it can build a substantial 1st innings total, as it did in the first test. In fact, what distinguished Bangladesh's performance in the first test from our usual performance is that we built an innings of 488. This task--of building a substantial innings (of 450+ runs)--is where Bangladesh usually falters. If we can overcome this hurdle, then we have a chance of winning. If not, I fear for the result.
I hope our batsmen are up to the task.

well we nafis, javed, aftab, ashraful, habib, khaled, and Rajin one them has to shine in the matter of probability then we have masrafe rafique and tapash.
Target top 3 (iqbal, omar, bashar) Only a mere 130 runs
Target Middle Order (Ash, Rajin, Aftab) 150 runs.
Masud, rafique, mashrafe, tapash 100
Enamul and extras 25
Traget 405 runs
If zim get 300
then we get 100 run lead and try bowl zim out for 220 then only 121 to chase not bad hah

We need to clean up the tail first, this could be tougher than it sounds.

Zimbabwe has been playing very very carefully. A quick lok at the way they handled Rafique (36-13-48-0) shows the respect they have for him. It also shwos their determination - these guys are not going to go down without a fight. I wish it was a more sporting wicket. It's been hard getting thru their dogged defense in this dead pitch.

With all due respect to their fighting spirits - Zimbabwe should be bundled out for under 300. Can we do it ?

If Zim scores around 300, then it will be very hard to BD to take a lead of 100.
So we have to keep the run rate low as possible bowl the out as early as possible.
We may start bowling with Mashree & Enamul and Tapash & Rafique pair.
We have to bat defensive and make every partnership around 50, then play bit aggressive.
We should not take any possible runout risk and should not get out back to back
which let Zim bowlers dominate on us.
We are still in the game and hope we will take the full control of the game soon.

this is not like the case with india where you beat them once and they well hit you hard with 348 the next match...
these zimbabwean team is changed totally compared to the original team.......thanks to uncle mugabe....so you dont expect to put up a stronger fighting spirit
but anyway, its more like watching bangladesh A vs bangladesh national team playing test....the quality of zimbabwe cricket has dropped to that level after they kicked the whites out of their team

i think we are bowling alot better in this innins then we did in the first innins of first test. rafique bowled really well yesterday but he was very unlucky not to get a wicket. enamul is doing that job today.

Yes, thanks to Uncle Mugabe 11 proud Africans are representing their team, and on the rise, as it should have always been.
We should remember our best players from the 60s and stop for a second to think what they went through before hurling stuff at Mugabe.
Just think of it like this..Blacks could not even play for their country...and the Whites could play for Zim, England, Australia....even though only one was technically their country.

IF any one still wants to see vedeo, try Yahoo Massanger, add user 'bangladeshlive'. There may be still some slot left.

Taibu is a very good, and consistent player. He is really leading this young Zim team from front.
