Kayes-Tamim Combo is probably our best opening pair
Given the runs they have scored togethere in tests, unlike other players he doesnt fall when tamim does, demonstrated in the brilliant 93 he scored against australia, take note a full strenght side, plus he scored the most runs in 2012 wc, if he can improve his SR he will be the perfect pair for TI,atleast with him in we wont see a 0-1 or 2-2 score, the pair can get us a 50 partnership with ease

By the way it's only been few odi where Tamim-Soumya failed to perform. Even last partnership was 46. Not that bad.

KaEdge is NOT an international standard player in ODIs, but I would back him to pair with Tamim as long as Soumya remains out of form. KaEade is probebly our best bet to give us a decent start with Tamim for England series in home condition.
I really hope for Soumya to have a "very" good BPL in November so that he can go to NewZealand with full of confidence. Soumya (if inform) would absolutely love comparatively faster NZ and English pitch where the ball comes to bat nicely. Fingers crossed.

In last three years, Tamim formed most successful partnerships actually with Mushfiq. Their partnership has much higher average and faster scoring rate, comparing to other Tamim partnerships.
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/eng...ew=fow_summary
They complement each others batting style quite well. It should have been no brainer for Mushfiq to give up gloves and focus on his batting as an opener, or at least as an one-down batsman. Not sure what's taking him so long to come to this realization.
Our best ever ODI batting order could be -
Tamim
Mushfiq
Momin/Soumya
Riyad
Shakib
Mosaddek
Sabbir/Nasir
Sohan (WK)
Momin being out of consideration for the ODI team is another unfortunate mistake our current team management is making.

^^ I don't think Mushfiq will ever agree to open the batting , but I do think he can come at #3 as he is regarded as one of the best batman in the team averaging above 45 in ODIs in last three years. Can you dig out his batting history at #3 from statsguru please?
I would like this combination when they are in form
Tamim
*Soumya (when in form)
Mushfiq
Riyad
Shakib
Mosaddek
*Sabbir (when in form)
* When Soumya and Sabbir are not in form based on their domestic performance, then I would use KaEdge and Nasir in their place respectively. They are not yet one of the core players.
Im not big on Mominul in limited over format.

My mistake, those partnership happened while Mushfiq batted mostly at #4 . He has been pretty reluctant about coming to bat any higher....

For test opening, Imrul seems doing ok to me. He should NOT be in ODI team though.

Are you seriously justifying based on what he has done in that nightmare of a WC four years back?

Kayes is not international standard. He is just a backup batsman but I agree he is in better form than Soumya right now but in the field he is a liability
