There's always room for improvement and chance for win. Take your example and look from a different angle and you'll find a glorious chance for the Zims to surprise mighty India. Likewise, on a lucky day we might surprise the Zims no matter how formidable they look to us now.

I watched the game. My view is that their batting good (not great, but quite good), but bowling on the other hand seemed quite ordinary. May be because the pitch was batting friendly. I believe there is nothing extraordinary to be scared of. If our batsman can play normal game and we can compete good.

Its another issue that our batsmen loose their brain when they go on in the middle.

With Sujon gone now, we will have even a weaker lower order in Zimbabwe than the weak lower order that we have now.

Well i was hoping that someone would notice chalisle and irvine scored 202 combined 4th wkt parntership for zim. this simply implies that their middle order is much stronger than ours.

when was the last time our middle put a show like that?? (specially with mahmud gone)

With Mahmud gone now, 310/2 in Pakistan isn't too far a past. I know it's not exactly middle order, but hey, a four is a four wheather through ...

I've seen the match, those 2 batsman of Zimbabwe were let off - too much underestimated, and something that happened for poor captaincy on the part of Ganguly. If we bowl players like Alok Kapali and Mohammad Ashraful, who are specialist batsman, 20 overs straight, then any Zimbabwean batsman can score some hundred runs in no time.

In Test cricket, Javed Omar and Habibul Bashar has done something like that.

But yes, it is a warning - for Bashar the present captain and for our bowlers, and in some sense for Whatmore too.

Besides, Carlisle and Ervine are way too much experienced players to achieve the 202 run partnership.

The main thing is that 202 run partnership is not important, what is important is that now they have one more player in Sean Ervine who have an ODI century against a team other than Bangladesh, Kenya, Namibia or other associate teams with very poor bowling line up.

Whereas, we have only one Bangladeshi player who has an ODI century against Zimbabwe, the team that we want to beat, at home - in Bangladesh. And that player is not even in form at the moment.

Even if we forget about the ODI century thing, it always reminds us that we have crossed the total of 250 on several occassions, and all against Zimbabwe, not against any better teams with way better bowling line ups.
