It is not physically possible for any footballer to play their best with only a 2 day gap between games.. not to mention playing all the games in the same pitch also makes the surface really bad.
For Bangladesh football to improve, BFF needs to organise matches (local games) in good quality pitches. That atleast ensures that the football is pleasing to the eye. Once the football is good to watch and competetive, BD will not have any issues finding spectators.
The quality of the two games BD played is really bad otherwise.
Agreed. 1-0 win is a good outcome, felt like a well balanced game, but fatigue let us down from time to time during counter attacks we couldn't move up fast enough to capitalise. Should really have spaced out games more (and possibly allocated some group games to Chittagong/ Northern Bangladesh). Both teams played the game with a defensive formation.
I must say even comparing to bigger side, our shots from a distance (outside of the penalty box!!) is simply amazing perhaps on-par with many WC playing nations even. We had 12 shots at goal, compared to Pakistan (5).
It seems like we have developed a habit of scoring from long throws (and Biswanath has amazingly accurate throws too). A bit unconventional method of scoring but, hey if that works for us.
^ I must say Pakistan had some real quality players. Some play on 2nd Division Danish leagues, one of them in an Australian 3rd Division team and others play for 1st Division teams in Maldives, Malaysia and Cyprus. The GK Yousuf Butt is Canadian-born and even represented the Canada U-20 squad.
But some of their other players were very meh to balance it out.

Check out Rory Delap... his story is amazing. He was so good and accurate with his long throws, that teams proffered giving away corners instead of throw ins...

Both Pakistan and Afghanistan depend on players in foreign leagues. They do not have any football infrastructure. PFF is rotten to the core and their league is a on-off affair. Players playing in Pakistani league are not pro footballers in most cases. The money is non existent.

Greater Bengal has a strong football culture historically, a lot of Indian footballers come from West Bengal and surrounding states.
However unlike Bangladesh, The 90s football craze never died in Calcutta. Just look at the sold-out Salt Lake Stadium in 2018 (85k seating cap. compare that to 36k at Bangabandhu NS) for a match of Muhun Bagan against East Bengal. Their version of Abahani vs Mohammedan, the Dhaka derby.
Abahani-Mohammedan game pulled a record low crowd of just under 100 spectators a couple of years ago (2016 I believe) I read on a news report.

Maldives was never a threat to BD in the 80s and 90s. We used to win by big margin against them back then. Our main opponent was only India.

At the time when Bangladesh football was at its peak, it still struggled in international competition. We actually never murdered Pak or India in any international comp.
There are few reasons behind it
1/ There were internal rivalries between players from opposing clubs. Abahani players never got along with Mohammedan players.
2/ Clubs used to influence the player selection, (this is happening to this day). National team Coach/managers were dominated by the club officials to pick their players or loose their job.
3/ Corruption played a major role, money granted by FIFA for buying balls/develop pitches or bring coaches etc were stolen regularly from the BFF coffers.
4/ We hardly had proper trainer/physio with the team.
