I'd skip over kayes, naeem and razzak though naeem should be considered before the other two. Taskin if fit is a must imo and rubel/nazmul are good as well so will be interesting to see who gets picked but I highly doubt it will be nazmul.

LOL moja pilam. No doubt it will be a tough mission for us. But ODI is also our best format.

After playing test cricket for 14 years, we are still thinking to beat only AFG. If this is our only target in WC, we should not bother to paly in WC. We should send our U19.

First time in a long time not looking forward to a world cup. More interested in 2019 when folks like Mominul, Anamul, Taskin, Taijul and others will have gained enough experience to complement Shakib, Mushi and Tamim. 2023 will be in India on slow pitches and we should be ready for prime time.

Zimbabwe invited Bangladesh to play a 3-4 ODI match series in Zimbabwe, from January 10, as prep for WC. Since Zimbabwe pitches are closer to what we expect to see in Aus-NZ, BCB is considering the offer.

BCB would be an idiot to not consider it! Smart by ZC too, they may be able to sneak some wins and bridge the gap between us in ODIs.

Both Bangladesh and Zimbabwe got invites to play a tournament in Dubai, alongside Ireland, Scotland, and Afghanistan from 10th to 28th January.

I rather see us and Zimbabwe playing each other in Zimbabwe during the period though, that will be better prep for WC.

I don't see why we can't play both! Associates need suppprt from test nations even if its just Zim and BD.

Looks like the BCB have accepted and they wont be going to Zimbabwe

Have no idea how reputable that paper is, but I'd be very happy if this gets the go ahead

Interesting, Hathuri thinks Dubai pitches will prepare you for Aus-NZ! Am I reading it right?!

"We are in favour of the Dubai trip as our coach also recommended playing there as there are some pitches similar to the ones down under and on the other hand there is possibility of rain in January in Zimbabwe." informed Yunus.

From a Pak-Aus tour article -

Quote:
The Dubai pitch can offer a surprising amount of pace and carry, which could yet encourage the use of three fast bowlers. But the leading wicket-taker at the venue is Saeed Ajmal and in all Tests at the venue, 104 wickets have been taken by spinners compared with 80 from fast bowlers and medium-pacers.
Bouncy tracks do help spinners too (as we had seen in Mirpur Test). I guess it all depend how the curator prepares it (bouncy or not).

The Daily Star is considered to be the most reputable "English" Daily Newspaper in BD.
