Is it just me who thinks BCB XI losing to BD U23 is a sign of further dissapointments to come for Bangladesh cricket?

Other than Mushy and Nasir there was no hope for that BD XI in the practice match. Anamul is a major concern..Aumi is not INT material and Momin sucks in shorter formats. Ullah is a big sissy.

The fact that BCB XI lost to U-23 shows that our pipeline and in the process, National team are only going to get better.

People are passionate about cricket but because of the political unrest and non stop Hartals, I am sure our economy has already taken a heavy battering this year. So i won't be surprised if we don't find local companies willing to spend money on sponsorship in this economy.
We can't blame the international companies either as we have been poor over the last decade across all formats.

I also think we are doing good in ODIs but that is because we, bd fans follow our team closely. The lack of interest amongst reputed foreign coaches, broadcasters, sponsorships etc shows that the rest of the world expects us to do a lot better as a Test playing nation. There is no room for being easily satisfied with the odd series win anymore. We have been playing tests for a long time now and We need to do much better on away tours and we need to reach semifinals of ICC tournaments to really make other people take notice of our progress.

Right now our FTP is really barren and unless we start causing upsets the schedule will likely become more empty in the future. We seriously need to make an impact in the upcoming T-20 WC and knock a few of the big boys out of the tournament.

Elias Sunny should have been in. Ahead of Raj and is Nazmul still recovering? because Rubel, Muktar, Sajidul are no match for Nazmul.

CI News:

Saqlain to join Bangladesh for NZ series
Mohammad Isam
September 1, 2013

Saqlain Mushtaq has confirmed his return to Bangladesh as the team's spin bowling consultant later this month. The former Pakistan offspinner will continue the 100-day contract with the Bangladesh Cricket Board for 2013, which saw him accompany the side to Zimbabwe earlier this year.

"I look forward to joining the Bangladesh camp by the end of September. If not, (by) October 1 is a must," Saqlain told Dhaka Tribune.

Yeah how does Razzak get the nod ahead of Sunny? Good to see Soumya there. Massive opportunity for him to impress the watching coach. Poor decision to include Mashrafe, when you've been out so long due to injury the last thing you want to do is put him in a 3 day match.
