Default Sheikh Kamal Stadium, Gopalganj

I dunno if this was shared in BC, but just found this video of this new stadium under construction.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yS3aSrl4BBw

I heard about this stadium but had to clue that it was almost done by the looks of the clip. I must say, it looks great! Finally a stadium with proper overhead sheds. One more beautiful stadium for Bangladesh. Probably wont see international matches due to the location though.

Looks nice indeed. A small but cute stadium.

Thanks for sharing the link Rinat.

The country is losing playing grounds for the last 20+ years.

The more stadiums in the country the better for our future. I like these kind of investment in the infrastructure. I am hoping, the supporting infrastructure like hotels, road will be eventually will be built. The other concern is hopefully they will have continuous funds to maintain those stadiums.

Agreed. At least these stadiums will provide some space for the coming generations to play in future. But, agree with Night_wolf that a change in current govt. might do the same fate what is happening to the Bogura stadium - almost unplayable conditions now due to dirty politics.

The problem is not with making stadiums in their backyard, the problem is BAL/BNP govt does not want to use other's built stadium.

The "BNP" stadium and hotel made Hawa Bhaban quite a lot of money. Both the hotel and the stadium have been pretty much abandoned since then as expected. I see a similar fate for this AL stadium.

Gopalgonj does not have even 2/3 star hotel. even for a decent restaurant you have to walk 2 KM.
Even the communication from nearest airport/divisional city is a nightmare.

Why don't they broaden their mind and make it in Mymensingh? never thinking for the benefit of the country, only for their own ppl. I bet the construction contracts are the main agenda here which will be distributed to ChatroLeague... money will be sucked up but the stadium will never erect to its full form.

This is what most, I gatherd knowing the nation ppl and culture more indepth since me younger days. I didnt use to know much, didnt think of these things exist (naive young days) was into my own sportic life and other things, but as I got older, lived in certain areas which has lots of bangalis and south asians, been to BD few times. Then, realised things I never thought existed to that certain level.
Truly, subcontinent has so many sad human mental disseases, and these sad people affecting millions and many from the top to bottom.

Sorry, it might be off topic. But, I just felt like sharing it..
