Any reliable used car seller in New York !

Guys, I am planning to buy an used car here in New York city. This will be my first car with American driving license. Preferred a Camry or Accord as far as the reliability is concerned, I have family and kids, a low price SUV such as Honda CRV may also be good. But not sure which dealers to go to or where to find such a car with a budget around $4000 or little higher. Anybody knows any place, person or reliable dealers? Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Camry/ Accord/ CRV for less than $4000? Dont do it. Even if you're in upstate NY. These cars should be going for $8000-$13000 depending on mileage & condition, for models from 2002 onwards. Unless you know a bit about cars, you can easily land a lemon for $4000 if its a Japanese brand.

Fords, Chevies and Chryslers at your price range will be newer, but can turn out to be quite unreliable.

I doubt you can get a competent CRV or accord or camry for 4000.... unless you are looking at the really old ones.

I know a few people with 1995 model BMW's for 5000.
