anyways, I too was playing around..... it is just too funny when some of the words prounced have reallyl nasty meaning

here are some instances when u just can't avoid it. i mean jaiga will faka etc will not work.

(fokir ke) jhola _____ karo. say u wanna put some grain. vastly used by people. jaiga faka or khola, doesn't work. sometimes u just have to use it.

This is useless excercise. When speaking in bangla I barely notice when I am saying that word. I think most people don't really care or even take notice when they are mingling in bangla. This is just the way it is. I have no problem with the word

Is gooey an offensive word in Bangla? I suppose if you went to Dhaka and said 'Ei icecream ta gooey', it may lead to some confusion.

nasif, it does make a difference if you are speaking Bangla in a public place in an English speaking country!

talking about the same kind of thing, it always amuses me, when some american use the word "ganja" to refer to marijuana. in fact, this word is in english dictionary with the same meaning. even thoug "gaja" is the formal bangla word, it is more commonly known as ganja in spoken form.

Kuisal = aakh (sugar cane)
