Choose wisely. Impacts your budget.

Quote:
As usual, Forbes magazine's annual listing of the 400 richest people in America contains its fair share of Pittsburghers and Pittsburgh-connected people.

Highest-ranked locally was industrialist Henry Hillman ($3 billion, 39th place).

The others were Richard Scaife, publisher of the Tribune-Review ($1 billion/166th) and his sister, Cordelia Scaife May ($655 million/289th), Teresa Heinz ($550 million/346th) and Richard Simmons, chairman of Allegheny Teledyne Inc., ($530 million/357th).

There are also those with strong Pittsburgh connections.

Paul Mellon, 90, resides in Virginia. His fortune is estimated at $1.3 billion. The Mellons were also listed among Forbes' wealthiest families (combined worth: $6.2 billion).

Stanley Druckenmiller ($800 million) started as a stock analyst at what is now PNC Bank Corp. and then founded the money management firm Duquesne Capital Management. Since 1989, he has been running George Soros' Quantum Fund.

Forbes lists three residences -- in Monaco, New York and London (Sutton Place, the former home of J. Paul Getty) -- for Frederick Robinson Koch ($600 million), but Mr. Koch is also restoring Elm Court, an historic mansion in Butler. Thomas Lee ($750 million), whose namesake venture capital firm bought Fisher Scientific for $1.4 billion and had sold a substantial stake in General Nutrition Cos. Inc. a few years ago.

Among the near misses was Margaret Hardy Magerko ($450 million), chief executive of 84 Lumber Co.

"MLC also included a re-draft order. But they are yet to publish the official draft day or the players' list."

This is the order I received once I reshuffled it on a website:

Quote:
1. K_Sox - Flyers
2. T_E - KCC
3. Ajfar - Celtics
4. B_K - Saints
5. S_NR - SFS
6. Zunaid - Cowboys
7. Nadim - Heat
8. Denver - Manager Wanter
9. Maysun - Kings
10. F6 - PP
11. KP - Lions
12. Moc - NYR
13. Isnaad - Nationals
14. ATMR - TT
15. Tonoy - Mariners
16. NW - Bulls
(I'll personally talk to Bulls' manager and try to patch things up. Hopefully he won't be too upset.)

And in case you are wondering. Yes, it is indeed the MLC HQ. Damn sexy? Yes, yes it is. I'm sitting inside it, punching numbers right now.

Yes, I did take screen shot. I thought people might ask for it.

Draft Rules:
1) Snake Draft.
2) No Special deal on any round.
3) 1 Pick Per Round.
4) Total of 16 rounds.
5) 16 players/roster
6) Everyone must be active during draft week.
- If you can't make it, you are to give me 3 choices couple days ahead. If none of them are available, I'll randomly choose one for you. If you get don't get a the best of them, then it's not my fault.
- you can only do that twice, 3rd time you will be skipped.
And that is pretty much final. Anything I've missed or any thing else I should include?

Official list of players to be uploaded soon, once we have all 16 managers on the same page, ready to go.

Thanks Commish. Now set a day and date for the draft and every GM must be online for that. If not, they should be demoted down the order rather than having the rest of us wait for them. That way all of the initial trading can be done that day also.

Any provision to draft unsigned players after 16 rounds for trading purposes? A single drafted player may be worth more than one player or one player plus cash. The Sharks have money to burn and will sign extra players for that.

IMPORTANT: Please have everyone declare their payroll budget before the draft. The payroll MUST reflect the actual worth of the owner.

And one more thing, I will be really happy if you spell my name the right way for your List Shuffler: "Isnaad". Thank you in advance.

- Date will be published as soon as we have GMs ready. GMs will be PMed with the details.
- As some teams are already richer than the other, I'v decided to put a cap on that. For equality.
- I'll do that. I also have thing planned for that. But I just need to get through these preliminary steps first. IDK how hard this can be. It's taking forever.

That's the OLD list. It has been updated couple of times after that. Check the most recent one. Im doing on right now. So wait for that.

And I've fixed your named on the draft list. That was a typo. But I can't fix it on the list shuffler, as it is a screen shot.

Default Shattered Windows at Mohamed's Office

From thestar.com:

Posted 35 minutes ago

TORONTO - A heated meeting at Rogers Communication Head Quarters involving Toronto Tyrants executives left CEO Nadir Mohamed's office in a wreck early Monday morning. While the details are unknown, sources present at the time of the ruckus have indicated that the attendees of the meeting were visibly agitated by the MLC's last minute decision to overrule the original draft order.

"This is [bleep]...might as well tell us next week that we have to change our entire coaching staff too. As long as they apologize for it right? How the [bleep] are you supposed to chalk up a plan if they keep changing things as they please? [Bleep] this [bleep]", a furious AsifTheManRahman was quoted yelling at reporters as he stormed out of the building.

Other MLC officials were unavailable to comment.

The MLC recently decided to shuffle the original draft order for teams, a change which saw the Tyrants fall to #14 from #2 on the list.

Bulls, Sharks, Tyrants. A rivalry is born, in MLC HQ field?

In other words, I will not be hiring any specialist fielding coaches and Andy Flower will look after that. It's totally fine, he does not need to be a specialist at it.

^ Ok. Just saying. That just means he won't be rated as high on the sim, like some of the other coaches, say Mike Young/ Fountain. etc.

Flower was a great wicketkeeper and it is totally safe to assume that he'd be highly rated as a fielding coach also.

You can't put a cap on anything without negotiating with the players association and the GMs. If you do, you'll face a lockout like every major league sport has in the US. That's why every salary cap is AGREED UPON, not IMPOSED

Being rich isn't a crime in America, but being thoughtless when selecting an owner is IMHO. Can't tell me not to spend on a Lamboghini just because so and so can only afford a Maruti-Suzuki. Lamborghinis are worth more and won't be sold at the price of a butt-ugly tin-can on wheels. There may be civil rights issues and ACLU is our CSR partner

As a late comer, I demand that there be an expansion draft(yes even before we've decided on the actual draft) - I want to cherry pick unprotected players from the other 14-15 teams.

I demand special treatment - it's my right as an American citizen.
