I think they certainly are a great addition. However, I think we should limit to one smiley per player(except Shakib, he deserves three). I call dibs on the Ash smiley though.

Smilies/Emoticons work, because they lack the detail of photographs. A photo is too concrete to use as an abstraction of emotion.

In PakPassion forum, just about every thread is ruined by photo smilies. It's kind of used like a poor substitute of "inner joke". Often they don't even mean anything. Can you make any sense of an "afridi" smiley in an Ashes match thread?
