However I beleieve giving more responsibility to them slowly with success.... not from #/8#9 to suddenly to #2/#3. These sudden drastic change is a perfect recipe for screwing up a young career.

which is exactly why M. Riyad should move up to #6...

riyad, rahim and naeem should take the #4-#6 spots in the test batting line-up, debatable whether that's where they should bat in one-dayers since raqibul and ash are doing much ebtter in that format and riyad and naeem are such great finishers.
i definitely wouldn't push them straight from 7/8/9 to the #2 or #3 spots, none of them are really openers we would need to see if they can succeed in the middle order before giving them any higher promotion. i would probably move riyad to #4 though, put him there for a few test matches and see how he goes and bring in another spinner so he doesn't have to worry about the bowling so much.

A good top order batsman is being destroyed by the coach and the team management. Same happened to Naeem as well. These players are orthodox top order batsmen who takes a little time to settle down before scoring fast and they are not slog materials.
Yet our management keeps them playing at lower order where they are completely unfit. As a result....we all know it.

then lota kamal

Ryad is still a good test player.
I was never fond of him in ODI or T/20
I dont know when the team management will understand

nayeem can provide a few useful overs with ball, he is more effective than mahmudullah in ODI games.
nayeem should replace mahmudullah.

Bump!
This needed bump. Long been, no debates on Mullahs official thread.
I'm not happy with him at test cricket. His been sleeping through test matches, it seems, and for some time.
An average of less than 32, only 12 50s out of 50innings, and 1 hundred, batting in the top half especially recent years. Not good enough. One would expect lot more from him from him at test, judging by his technique he should be averaging least in the high 30s at test.

I think he is a better lower order player in test cricket..... I think he gets more worried about scoring runs and rotating strikes as a top order batsman... Put him at like 6 or 7...
Also gotta utilize his bowling. You can't expect a bowler to be on good rhythm when u are only using him 1-2 overs in every other game. He can spin the bowl, has good accuracy and a proven partnership breaker

I agree riyad should be used more with the ball but in tests he's definitely not proven to be a wicket taker, when he got more of the bowling responsibility he like most of the others wasn't able to take wickets. He's definitely useful for keeping one end tight though, and he's good enough to make the batsmen see his bowling as something to be taken seriously. I believe he still has room left to become a better bowler, same goes for his batting.

Lol Riyad has a limit to the number of deliveries he'll face in an innings it seems
