Now that the season is 2/3 over now is the time to reevaluate the teams again....
AFC
Colts: Should go to the super bowl. Anything less will be an upset.
Charger: Surprisingly finishing strong. Good sign for going all the way. They have a great leader in their QB.
Cincinnati: Another surprise team. Who thought they will play that great? Another potentially great QB leading the team
Patriot: Even go to playoff, will not move further. Finishing weak, a real bad sign.
Broncos: Had its Up and the down and then looks like ending strong. A really go team, but may not be a great team.
Jaguar: Don't know much, don’t follow much. Looks like above average team.
Ravens: Play really hard, but may not have enough fuel left to go further. Will be lucky to go to playoff. Defense is much porous than other usual years.
Dolphin: Another team, who may have to wait another year to be really strong competitor. Will play spoiler or end up in playoff, that’s something to watch.
Jets: I think they will fade further as weather becomes colder. Another team, who started strong and is fading later stage of the season.
Steelers: I think they are slowly drowning as the season is ending. Even they end up going to the play-off, unless they play strongly for the rest of the 4 games, I don't see they will play any significant role in this year's play-off. Finishing that weak is not a Good sign.
Raiders: Their season is over for a while now, but they are playing like a great spoiler now and thanks to their new QB. That made all the difference. Their defense was decent, and their RB was good, but their QB was lousy.
Bills/Chiefs/Brown: time to think about next season.
NFC
Saints: Playing still strong. I think against Deadskin it was just a hiccup and plying it easy. They were about to loose that game, but deadskin kicker game them a last moment life. Game against Patriot was superb. So I say they are still the favorite to go to superball. But they are beatable and may not end up going to the superball.
Viking: Really go team with just 2 loss. But I always have a feeling they may loose early in the playoff.
Cardinals: Another team playing strong later in the season. A very good sign. I say opponents watch out.
Cowboys: Another season and another repeat of history i.e. when winter comes cowboys becomes cow girls. Fallen off rapidly at the end of the season and most likely may not even make it to the playoff. Even they do, they will be out in the 1st playoff game
Eagles: Looks like finally they are playing like a real good team. if they go to the playoff (what they should), another watch out team.
Giants: Pretty much disappointed with my team. Started very well, they nose dived and now looks like coming back. But that may not be enough, need to play much better in defense. Next game against Eagles is kind of their play-off game; the whole season is at stake. Still 4 games left, if they play strong with fixing their defense, then there is some hope otherwise, with the current stage, there is not much hope, even they make it to the playoff. Therefore I need to see NYG-vs-Eagles game first before I rebuild my hope for this season or raise white flag and concentrate on necxt season.
Falcons: Started well, bit fading rapidly as the season is ending. mathematically still possible, but realistically their season is close to over.
49er: They have great coach. may be they need few more years to be a real factor.
Bears: All the hypes before the season was all smoke with little miracle.
Deadskin: Playing great last two/three games in losing cause. But too little too late for lost cause
Lions/Tampa/Rams: Real real bad teams.

I am so pissed off right now. The Falcons had the Saints beat but once again, the refs and our questionable play calling bit us in the ***. What the hell is up with the stupid refs??? They screwed us over the entire game especially on those 2 bullshit pass interference calls. They just want the Saints to go undefeated. FML.

NYG's seaosn is pretty much over. With such a porous defence and poor Special team, nothing will be accomplished even if they some how make it to the playoff.

Patriots have a problem. Randy iQuit Moss. Brady chewing the offense out in the locker room
I love NFL now. Would love more if JETS or Dolphins wins the remaining games.

Thats a little spiteful, dont you think? Loving the league simply for your hatred of another team.
Brady hasnt chewed anyone out recently. Actually, thats not true. He did attack Gamble and Harris over the week for insinuating that Randy Moss gave up on his plays. Believe it or not, this isnt Oakland. The Pats are sticking by each other.
Moss's game was a little troubling, I admit. But everyones allowed one bad game, and although the media will gloss over it, hes still within the top 5 receivers in both total yards and TD's this year...

Oh Really!! Go back couple of weeks. And yes, Moss was among the crowd.
After the loss to the Fins:
Quote:
In the larger view, it makes you wonder if Moss was being alluded to when quarterback Tom Brady(notes), who following the loss to Miami, said “I don’t think we fight very hard.” Even when he had a chance to back off those comments on his weekly radio appearance on Boston’s WEEI, he reiterated the stance that at times, the “digging deep” that used to define the Patriots wasn’t always showing up.
Brady’s had a few semi-heated moments talking to offensive players this season, and on some occasions, Moss was present and on the other side of Brady’s glare.

Thats why I dont bother to read Charles Robinson anymore. He's the kind of guy who pulls up sound bites to make himself look more legit, but the second you delve further, you ask yourself..."thats it"? That innocuous comment is what prompted you to write an entire article? Btw, heres the WEEI radio appearance you brought up.
Also, how does some dude who writes for a newspaper in Michigan get inside information from one of the most secretive organisations in all of football? I havent heard any of this anywhere, and believe me, I check my fair share of news outlets. None of the supposed "NFL insiders" (like Jay Glazer) have mentioned it either. This guy doesnt pretend to be one, so how the heck does he know?

Now the rest of the League knows about Darrelle Revis, Beamer knew too but thats cause he's from Pitt
7-6 along with 3 other teams, need some help to make the playoffs. But I still believe

Revis is the best corner in the league, bar none. He shut down Moss two times this year alone and I'm sure was a big part in making him the shadow of his former self he is today...(at least for now. I have a feeling he's going to bust out in next weeks Buffalo game to make a statement)...

R.I.P Chris Henry. Watched him a few times playing vs Steelers and PITT when he was with WVU. Very sad.
Well, after a few weeks of anger, frustration, disbelief , dispair, I have come to terms with the disaster that was the Steelers this year. What a monumental collapse. Never saw this coming. Just can't put a finger on things. Sure, not having Troy ( Madden curse ) and the loss of Aaron Smith hurt this defense, but still we should be able to beat KC, Raiders, Browns- without them. The special teams were pathetic all year. Offense- sporadic despite putiing great numbers , but a lesson must be learned what happens when you get away from Steelers football. One thing that did during the adversity was the aging factor of the defense that became apparent. We will start the purging process off many defensive stalwarts who became the core of this special defense from 2001 on. Time passes by and catches on. I do take solace in the fact that we have won two SB's in last four years, more than any franchise during that time. But, things move on. We will draft heavily on defense and early picks should help. With that being said, minus the anxiety rooting for your own team playing for something, I can look at the NFL from a different persepctive and enjoy the games coming up now all the way to the playoffs. It should be good.
cricman - Revis is the best corner. I remember the draft day when we sat waiting for him to fall to us. It almost did. Jets moved up and grabbed him. They are better for it. We got Lawrence Timmons ( MLB ), who is a very good young player, but not Revis.

As long as they lift the trophy, I have no problem. But having a zero beside their season would be sweet. Special sweet for Miami fans.

So basically the NFC is New Orleans, Vikings, Eagles, Zona with NO and Vikes getting a first round bye.
Wild card: Packers and boys.
AFC is still in little doubt. Colts and chargers having a bye. New England and Bengals will face Broncos and Ravens. Although it would be a great story if the Titans make the playoffs. C Johnson is slippery. Too slippery.
+++
Pittsburg, Giants, Falcons needs to rethink their strategy for next year. JETS fans, Sanchez is not the chosen one. I like Miami next year. With a healthy Ronnie Brown they can finally get back at Hoodie. All the pieces are coming together.

Steelers still hanging by a thread. I wouldnt count them out just yet. As a matter of fact, I believe their destiny is still very much in their hands. They get in if they win out. Cant get any simpler than that...

I dunno Farhad. Odds are stacked too much against us to sneak in even if we run the table. I am not optimistic, but stranger things have happened. We will see. The game was amazing yesterday. Big Ben is a straight up baller ( Not just a QB- I must make that distinction ).

3 botched FG's, we find new ways to lose.
Wildcard is Wild in the AFC OMG
Denver (8-6) @ Philly, Bal (8-6) @ Pitt
And than Miami, Jets, Texans, Titans, Jaguars, Steelers

He's gonna start (He's got the stupid streak), Hopefully he plays for a Half.
Peyton can put out 14 in Half and our offense wouldn't be able to get 15 against there 2nd stringers in the entire 2nd half.
If he's in there in the 3rd Qtr, Rex will probably tell Bart Scott to take a Roughing the Passer Penalty to make the Colts to think just a little bit.
