Congrats to the Football team for winning the gold. I hope BFF will keep this coach for a while and allow him to develop a squad.

Bangladesh equalled Pakistan with 18 golds each thoug Pak standing in second place for better silvers tally.
I hope BD will fetch some more golds tomorrow(last day?) and will be the 2nd best.

Pakistan is leading us in the gold tally by unexpectedly winning the women's 100m sprint. A surprise, but congrats to Naseem Hamid for being the first Pakistani female sprinter to achieve such a feat.

Default With all due respect to our cricket and soccer medalists

We suck in the medal-heavy competitions: athletics and swimming. In athletics, we have 2 silvers and 2 bronze...that's pathetic. In swimming, we have 2 silvers. This is terrible. Look at Sri Lanka...a nation with one tenth the population, and punching well above its weight. They also have the second highest overall medals tally after India! Sorry to rain on our parade, but the showing in the important sports has been pathetic.

Not to muddy the waters but the Afghan coach was qouted in Dailystar (yesterday) saying BD is an ordinary side and they lack stamina. Boy oh boy, he stepped in all sorts of doodoo there, didn't he. Congrats to BFF for picking a really good coach. This team loves to score goals, plays positive football. Maybe the national side will also benefit from his guidance. 4-0 in a regional soccer final when we have choked in previous years, great job!

we have to put that word in our jerseys or sth.
if that brings us so much great results.... I am proud to be an ORDINARY fan....

despite failures in some major events, i am very much impressed with the players. Most of our players got only 3/4 months to prepare whereas India, SL players practice all the year long. I also thank organizers to put up a good effort to make this event successful. We bangladeshi may be poor in terms of financial, but we are not far behind organizing big events in near future !

Athletics, swimming and to some extent shooting was a bit disappointing. But football just erased every trace of sorrow from my mind.
The way BD played was unbelievable, anyone who saw the game would agree with me. specially after the disastrous SAFF games, the turnaround was breath taking. BD team played for 90 minutes, the urgency showed by the players were spectacular, the hunger for success was evident. Never have I seen BD team run around with so much purpose. So congrats BD team, I hope our success will finally cross the South Asian border and we will make some major inroads in the Asian scene.
PS: I have been watching football since 1998, so I haven't seen the golden generation play.

bdnews24.com reports

Athletics- 0, expected atleast 1
Swimming- 0, expected 2
Archery- 0, expected 2
We expected atleast 5 more golds from these events before tournament and now we ended up 0. It is more painfull when Pakistan gets ahead of us with winning only one more golds.
