Default ***** Official Saqlain Sajib Thread*****

The Next Shakib Al Hasan On the Uprising To dominate Bangladesh Cricket in the Upcoming years. He is a Slow left-arm orthodox bowler who has been exceptionally good in Domestic Cricket. The player known for his Spin quality has a better average than Shakib Al Hasan if you compare the First Class Bowling average. In fact he has a better average and strike rate than Abdur Razzak and Shakib Al Hasan. This guy is a Huge Prospect for the Bangladesh Team, I will be disappointed if I do not see him in the National Team within this year. Please Include any Stats about This Future Star of Bangladesh cricket.

another SLA!...our bank never runs out of SLA..anyway he is not another Shakib..shakib gase dhorena...but he is a good bowler...if only he wasn't a SLA..we have many SLA..we need varaities

Batting avg of 8 and 14...cant compare with Shakib..Razzak is a more valid comparison

Sajib has still a long way to go but undoubtedly a bright prospect

Do you think he will be more effective than Naeem Islam or Mahmuddullah... Look at his average, a great Talent.... Same like Shakib or better... At the moment cant say his better until he plays in The National team. What a future prospect..

Shakib is an allrounder remember?..we need the service of his bat and bowl both..sajib is not a batsman..so no comparison with Shakib...and its too early to compare with The Bowler shakib too...Shakib is a proven International Bowler(dont judge him by his recent form)..sajib has long way to go

Why not?

We see so many useless threads popping up every day, whats wrong to open one thread dedicated to a prospect?

Actually I am looking forward one dedicated thread for each of our prospects.

We already have 2 World-class SLA.They will play at least 3 more years. No chance before 2012.Mahmudulla and Nayem are just part time off spinner. You cant compare him with them.We need good full time off spinner.

if you think he deserves so be it.................but i thought those official threads were to reduce those useless threads popping up everyday regarding one individual......and it appears that this is the first thread (at least not many) regarding this guy..........then again just my opinion

Saqlain Sajib is an excellnet spinner. He should be tried out. Razzak has somewhat lost it and Shuvo has not proven himself yet. So I think Saglain should be given a chance to see what he can do in the international arena. There is another prospective spinner- Sanjamul.

On another note- Saglain is doing great in domestic matches. There is nothring wrong opeing a thread on him and see what everyone thinks. I think it's a good idea to open a thread on a prospctive player than " I am happy New zealand beats SA,"- no offense to anyone.

Saqlain is great in domestics but then again that's a lot of our players that are brought in. The key is to play well in the A team before you get a chance in the national team. Last time he was in the A team, he played 4 List A matches took 3 wickets and had an average of a 67 with a econ rate 5.77. Not impressive at all. Let's see how he does this time around before we hype him up.

if he really gets into the team & becomes as good if not a very good allrounder then this thread will be a good example of "Jhore bok" othoba "ondhokare dhil chora"

It is good that BCB has included Saqlain Shajib in the Bangladesh A tour match for SA. This will give him great exposure at the international level and test his temperament for the international matches. We have to follow what other countries has been doing...giving them exposure at the international level and preparing them for the national team.

I saw his bowling couple of times and he flighted the ball a lot but didn't get much turn. I hope he has improved since then. I am more interested in Noor Hossain.

I dont think he is a national team material. I saw his bowling on TV and didnt impress me. He seems very slow and has no turn at all. He is just cashing on technical inability and lack of patience of our domestic batsmen.
Shaker and Noor Hossain are better prospect.

Shuvo has very similar average as well. But he hasn't done anything significant yet. But then again, when Shakib came to the scene, he was very ordinary too and developed along the way. I am sure Shuvo and Saqlain would improve vastly.

But don't really see him making it to the national team anytime soon. Clearly Razzak and Shakib would play most games, and Shuvo is the third choice SLA, then there is Enamul Haque. Then we have some LS, OS coming up, I doubt selectors will opt for another SLA. But then again, I haven't even seen him bowl, can't really make a call.

Also, can't we trade some of our SLAs for some middle order batsmen? Australia might be keen to pick up Shuvo/Saqlain for say Mark Cosgrove, George Bailey, or maybe Rajshahi Ranger's very own Aiden Blizzard!!
