I actually stayed with a Lankan researcher for 2 weeks at his home. I cooked for him and he cooked for me also. Most of the time he would put coconut in curry and once he cooked mutton. For the mutton curry he used crushed cumin which he bought fresh from an Indian grocery and used a small coffee grinder.

The fresh smell of cumin mixed with diluted coconut gravy made my day. Enjoyed with some freshly cooked sticky rice.

BTW, that luna miris seems like the food equivalent of Murali deliveries .

Our bowling attack looks very weak. Taijul & Rubel are not good enough to be specialist test bowlers. Taijul however plays a excellent support role to Shakib, hence it makes sense to have him in XI. Razzak (as being the main spinner), his not effective like Shakib. Really worried about Razzak./Taijul/Rubel, they are likely to cause us pain during the match.

Only hope is Miraz and Fizz, if only shakib was available that would have been three good bowlers.

I'm very optimistic about Mahmudullah's captaincy, his chance to shine as captain.
Will be very curious to see how he does and manages. I think if he does well, his guaranteed to captain Bangladesh in the future. Not only in test, but in T20.. as I think Shakib's days as captain in T20 is numbered. Very crucial test for Mahmudullah beginning tomorrow.

Mahmudullah, the stand-in captain, has struggled against Herath: he has been dismissed four times in five innings, having scored just five runs against Herath in 33 balls.

I think Kazi Nazrul would come out of his grave if Tanbir is the physical manifestation of his classic revolutionary poem.

now back to food and Bengali prince Vijaya. Interesting history there. So a flamboyant Bengali prince with a six pack ab and fancy jewelery went to SL and is considered their ancestor? wow very cool.

Okay, so BC's countdown clock says approx. 9 more hours to go.

But Cricinfo's start time is 8 and a half hours away.

Do you know Babul Kazi went to DRMC (Dhaka Residential Model College), our senior, and he participated in the First ever Nirman School Cricket team of DRMC. DRMC was the first Champion of that tourney and Babul Kazi, the grandson of late poet, was a member of that team.

BC clock takes the schedule way ahead of time but the problem is because of Daylight Savings time and other real life conflicts, timings and schedules change and sometimes BC clock does not necessarily keep up with it

Does Eastern US time differs to BD time by a non-integer factor? I now Indian time is like 8 and a half hours difference; they have the non-integer factor./

Well not by himself, his followers went with him. But otherwise pretty much this. IIRC, he was the prince of Kingdom of Venga (Bongo, aka Bengal).

I won't be surprised. SL (Sinhalese) and Bengali people are very similar genetically. I think I can walk in streets of Colombo and the locals would think I am one of them.

Piranha's are not usually found in Sri Lank; they are native to South America.

Also, they are not that huge.

Not exact similar perhaps, due to hundreds of years of intermixing with Tamils, Moors, Burghers etc. but should be quite close genetically.

I know man, this is probably one of their close cousins, tigerfish or something.

Thank God our fishes don't look this threatening, no wonder Abhirath became vegetarian J/K

They are the predators of the water world; the big fishes eat the little ones.

The circle of life...

And Abherath catches them and makes coconut curry with their heads.
