I found around 7 PM BD time, FTP went down to maintenance mood. After Iftar and Magrib prayer, I found it's disappeared.

Ashraf is right. Somehow the auto renewal didn't work for him. And he lost the domain.

This happened for me once. I lost our google PR 3 company domain just for credit card failure. A PR 3 domain may some times cost a few thousands USD.

I am afraid Ash has to go with a new domain name now. Getting back the previous one may cost him a lot. I am not sure how long may it take....

If we knew his server IP address, I could still go there. But the problem is we don't know it. Those who are still able to go to the FTP site may help us getting the IP address. Some how their nearest DNS servers still didn't have the record updated. They can find the IP address for others.

just open cmd prompt in your computer, and ping the FTP domain. It will show the ip address also. There are better ways to do it, but won't be easy for all.

No brother. That is "WHO IS" data for FTP domain. WHO IS is a global database regarding the owners of the domains.

That data means the domain owner has changed on 00 hours of 24 Aug, 2009. The rest information is about the owner.

It's a public information and easy to get. There's a lot of web site that provides the service. You can go to http://www.whois.net/, http://www.whois.com or any similar site and try yourself for any domain.

• Getting a new domain name and point it to the server. That means we will use the new domain name in that case.

Personally I think he will go with a new domain name as this game is free he won't go to invest money on it.

Nope. Everything should be fine there.

A domain name is nothing but a pointer to an IP address (web Site). If we knew the IP address of the FTP server we could still log in there. Our problem is the FTP domain is now pointing to another web site other than our loving one. Once we know the new domain name or the IP address we will be able to play it again. The system is running, academy is working, games will be on (unless Ash doesn't stop the games temporarily). So don't worry. We won't be starting again.

Otherwise knowing the new domain name will take long time, I am afraid.

okk.. so if he gets a new domain name, how will we know that its FTP?? we will have to look for it as most of us have no contact to Ashario.. maybe if he gets a new domain name he will e-mail it to us?? im chcking my mail..

I doubt if it's still working for him. Updating the DNS records take 6-12 hours on the globals DNS databases. Some how his nearest DNS database was not updated that time.
