Default Spare a thought for Shuvagato Hom

Shuvagoto's 21 run was crucial i think. Even though we won by a lot, his 21 took our lead past 270. Had it been less than 250, England would hv fancied their chances easily by having a 100 run opening stand. He played some good shots. I think his bowling was okay as he got to bowl a lot less overs and his fielding was exceptional. He may not be Mosaddek but yesterday that 21 not out was vital for our win

Played a part in this game. Batted effectively and fielding was amazing. Very disappointed with his bowling though. he was played for an extra offie. Totally failed at that.

Should'veGotA Home, would've Got A Home,
In some other era, in some other zone,
But in this competitive Bd squad, he won't get a home,
But his 4th innings performance was good enough for me to write this poem.

I think his bowling was okay but lacked penetration. Bowled tight. Batted well in second innings and fielded well too

I think we can put him to use at no. 8 in shorter formats as a utility player but that's about it

His fielding at slip was the highlight, it was extremely crucial at a time when every edge was being dropped or missed

He did his part with whatever limited opportunities he got but frankly He is not good enough to be in our current squads in any format of the game. We have better players than him in all forms.

With Miraz Hom has got to go home

But Hom isn't that bad a player if you ask me. He can certainly smack a few and bowl well. Can be a useful no. 8

That is ofcourse if he plays to his potential which he hasn't and rightfully got the stick from people

This. He is just there to fill a spot until a better player comes along.

I used to hate Hom.... But after watching yesterdays' match, I am very sympathetic.

He used lot of common sense while batting with the tail, which was something completely absent with Sabbir. I can't tell what went wrong in Sabbir's head that day. Was it just a dumb strategy or just plain selfishness ? Either way, Sabbir's strategy in the 1st test was baffling.

As for bowling, this pitch made average spinners appear great. Any spinner with decent control would have done well there. In that sense, he should have done better with the bowl. He got decent turn. But, he didn't display his usual control. May be, he would have done better if given an extended spell. Who knows ?

After watching him yesterday, I wouldn't completely write him off. I now see why selectors consider him as reliable backup option.

New Zealand are currently doing their homework on him...

'Was he playing possum all along?'

'Is he the surprise package?'

Hom going places with that wit.

Sorry but way too mediocre for a test team. I doubt even if Zimbabwe will take this guy.

Spare of thought? Luckiest cricketer ever to be a part of a historic winning team. So many talented players come and go without making it in the history books. The name Shuvogoto Hom will be forever stitched on that historic scorecard. So I'm sure he will be okay. (Same for Kamrul)

But here, sparing a thought. Appreciate you catching those two wickets and scoring a couple of runs. Just stay away from the NZ tour. Appreciate you Kamrul for making up the 11. Never make the team again. (Unless you can pull Kayes 2.0 like ****)

K, byeeee!

U guyz can bash him all u want. But i think those 21 runs were very crucial in the sense of this match. We tend to discard any player if they have tried and tested before. No players got enough chances like tamim, mushy, shakib. Its true that it is very hard to get into bd team now but i think we are quite harsh on players like mosarrof, hom and others. We always tend to go for the next young talent but what abt the players that has been in the system. He hasnt set the world on fire but in the context of the game i think his 21 runs have been more crucial than shakib's 41. It takes a lot for a bowler to get into rhythm when the captain also put so little faith in you.

i know that, but my point was why we have to look everything in negative vibe despite the great victory over England. These days this forum became full of negative vibes.

I am not a fan of picking past and tried rejects. Mosadeq would have been a better choice for this test series especially after a decent Odi series.

He seems bating wise quite ok now, actually played very nicely on tough situation. But his bowling lack the venom. probably still wait and see him one more series.

Mosaddek is better bowler and batsman than Suvogoto. I wonder why the team mgt wasnt able to realize that.

He bats like a part timer at best. Sure, got some valuable runs here, doesn't mean he should be in the team/adds any value to the team.
