Lightbulb Ist Test: WI Vs India, Will India win the Test Series after 1971 at WI soil?

After a good ODI series, I am eagerly waiting to watch the Test series between Inida and WI. India never won the test series at WI's soil after 1971. But India got 3 series victory in 17 test series from 1948 to 2003. India has a fresh memory about the last series win which will inspire them to play well. Just getting the ODI series victory by 4-1 and playing test at WI soil make WI still favorite. I hope the top of the pitch will be green and Lara will get couple of good scores to seal the Test deal like the ODI series.

Series List:

Series First Match Matches Result
1948-1949 India v. West Indies 10/11/1948 5 West Indies 1-0
1952-1953 West Indies v. India 21/01/1953 5 West Indies 1-0
1958-1959 India v. West Indies 28/11/1958 5 West Indies 3-0
1961-1962 West Indies v. India 16/02/1962 5 West Indies 5-0
1966-1967 India v. West Indies 13/12/1966 3 West Indies 2-0
1970-1971 West Indies v. India 18/02/1971 5 India 1-0
1974-1975 India v. West Indies 22/11/1974 5 West Indies 3-2
1975-1976 West Indies v. India 10/03/1976 4 West Indies 2-1
1978-1979 India v. West Indies 01/12/1978 6 India 1-0
1982-1983 West Indies v. India 23/02/1983 5 West Indies 2-0
1983-1984 India v. West Indies 21/10/1983 6 West Indies 3-0
1987-1988 India v. West Indies 25/11/1987 4 Drawn 1-1
1988-1989 West Indies v. India 25/03/1989 4 West Indies 3-0
1994-1995 India v. West Indies 18/11/1994 3 Drawn 1-1
1996-1997 West Indies v. India 06/03/1997 5 West Indies 1-0
2001-2002 West Indies v. India 11/04/2002 5 West Indies 2-1
2002-2003 India v. West Indies 09/10/2002 3 India 2-0

Will sure be difficult ...Not many teams have ever won a series in WI ..As far as I rememebr the only teams to register Series wins in WI are Aus ,SA (only recently ..they never played WI in there prime)and England.

I am almost sure that

Pak ,NZ and SL never won..

I am suprised that India managed to win agains the WI in the '70 s and did not manage to win the '90's and 00's...

Will be difficult but this is a good opportunity tooo ...aaaaaah miss Sachin in here.Would have doubled the chances ..

I'll still put my money on India even after the rout in the ODI's.

It was Lifetime Dream for Imran Khan, After retiring from Cricket, He said several times about it, it was 1987-88, 1-1 Drawn.

Pakistan never won the test series at WI's Soil.

Can anyone say, why Agarkar is omitted from the squad? Before the ODI series, indian fans were questioning his inclusion in the team; but he has performed superbly. It seems he has matured from his tendency of giving a 4-run ball in every over.

His omission is surprising because all other Indian bowlers are failing to perform to their potential. I find no justification in dropping some inform player.

west indies........ series win for sure......india......I guess they would be struggling to win even a single match, whatever chapal says or the "wall" says, they're surely going to loose, by looking at their performances in the odi series, and by the amazing team they've selected for test series

But Lara just managed a single century (103) against India in the following series which surprises me all the time (Lara got 31 Century in total). Anyone can give me any explation about that?

1996-1997 West Indies v India - 4th Test
Antigua Recreation Ground (04/04/1997)

There is no green top pitches in WI. All of the pitches has been relayed. These are pure batting tracks and turns from 4 day onwards.

From the lineup both teams are very shallow. None of them have any kind of tail. So an early collapse will be tell tell story for any of the teams. Shewag is on fire. I think he needs to slow down a bit otherwise may start a collapse

I am quite sure.. India wont be able to win this series. The best they can do is to make it draw. India doesnt have what it takes to win in WI.. even with a very medicore WI team.

Look at India's bowling lineup: Sreesanth, Patel and VR Singh... they combined to play four test alltogether... very unexperienced... I don't think they have what it takes to get WI out two times... Kumble will play a big role in this test match
