I don't know what the BCB admins are doing or if they have any plans. But few initiatives shows maybe we are slowly taking some steps, 14 years later --
1. The recent introduction to BCL is a right step
2. Akram Khan recently asking curators to have Bogura or Sylhet (can't remember which one) to have exclusive fast bowling pitches. Then slowly have at least one bouncy in other grounds (not the center wicket, but the adjacent ones).
3. SJ trying to have camp in AUS and already talked to some clubs there in preparation for 2015WC
Whether #2 and #3 will be implemented remains to be seen!!
But I agree that the lack of drive/motivation in the SL series has been very disheartening. Only Mushy is playing somewhat playing responsibly and the overall body language has been very poor. SJ needs to spank some of these players. That's why I wonder if Aminul Islam Bulbul would be a right coach for us or not. He has the required training and experience now and a deshi coach might be better for us.
Finally, BPL needs to start. I believe one of the reason we played so well in 2012 and 2013 was the BPL effect. The players had to play in front of almost packed stadiums and with decent international players. The close matches and the intensity gave players mental strength which was lacking in SL series. Shakib alluded to the fact few years ago.
