Close of Play. Marshall is making sure he stays ahead of Mehrab but Mehrab is not giving up easily.
231/4
Marshall 95* Mehrab 75* (Partnership of 175)

Riyad or Naeem. I prefer Riyad. He has the technique, whether he can pull it off is a different question. No Shakib at 3, he's not a #3 batsman.

Both two batsmen are playing really too good. Marshall Ayub is continuing his consistency in both tournaments this season and Mehrab is also near to second century in consecutive two innings.

what's happened to Asif Ahmed, is he injured? If not then surely it would be better to open with him rather than Elias, Shuvagoto or whoever else they decide to play out of position. Drop Raqibul, open with Asif and Shamsur, Marshall at 3 followed by Ash, Mehrab and Shuvagoto.

Very well said.
Yes in tests top order is a big issue. South zone have some issues with opening pair still Anamul is batting at #3. This indicates that he likes to bat at #3. To me he should be there. In that case opening in tests still remain a big issue. Unless we find some one new we will have to depend on the old haggards.

Hate it when a opener does this, unless ur M.Hussey ...

Good point Nadim.
Our test middle order:
4. Naeem
5. Shakib
6. Mushy
7. Nasir
8. Riyad
Waiting:
1. Mominul
2. Marshal Ayub
3. Mehrab Jn.
Those who are intelligent batsman all are trying there luck at top order. Like Rajin, Farhad Hossain, Mominul, ash,Asif Ahmed . To me Mehrab should bat up.

Ayub seems to be striking the ball really well. Currently his strike rate is 70.

Hope Marshall can get a big 150 and then work on 200. As fast as he's going, that shouldn't be a problem.
Has anyone scored 2 or more double tons in a first class season before?

Marshal and Mehrab look in very good form. They definitely should be in for the A team tour in England.

Marshall and Mehrab had 3 big partnership in First class cricket this season. All of them are more than 200 runs. Highest being 311 against Chittagong Div.

We have too many guys fighting for taken spots. Mushfiq, Nasir, Shakib, and Riyad have 4-7 locked down. Naeem may or may not be able to hold his position, but he's not a terrible option either way. Gazi I think can bat well enough to be considered a prospective all rounder. He could easily be a guy who can average 20-25 in both formats.
I think Abul is being exposed for the ordinary bowler that he is and I don't think he can replicate his batting form either. Anamul will take one of the opener/one-down slots. Meaning we need a #3 batsman. Marshal, Mehrab, Ashraful, and maybe some others seem to be in contention for that.
