Default The Abdur Razzak Thread

Any info about the left arm spinner who was accused for chucking? Is he okay under the new 15 degree rule?

He was impressive in the Asia Cup.

I Like this Abdul Razzak bowler. He can hit the ball hard with bat too. Hope he can come back.

yes he is fine to return to international cricket under 15deg rule. Hes an ok bowle,r but he has this beauty of a ball that ptches in line witht he middle spinning towards leg but turns back to the off. He used that delivery couple times to perfection. I think he needs to get a bit tighter on his line and length, then he can become very useful .

Does our team management have any plan to play him against Zimbabwe?

first question is: do we have the new law in place yet? i heard that it has been proposed, but don't know if its been actually passed. so, can someone tell for sure?

we can only think of rajjak AFTER the law has been passed.

yes it will be passed, murali is allowed to use his doosra as it has been cleared, and the new rules are being implemented although they still use the basis of the old rules, eg shoiab malik, if he was under the 15deg he would have been allowed to bowl, but he over both the 10 and 15 degree rule and thus not allowed to bowl.

Ok I didn't find an official thread for Razzak so I'm posting the article here. It's sad to see there are so many threads on new comers but not a single one for this silent but one of the most effective bowler of BD. I've noticed somehow most people don't like Razzak as much. So his greater efforts goes unnoticed most of the times. Even the media ignores him. He has been key to most of our ODI wins for a long time and was more successful than Shakib in ODI, still we hardly celebrate any of his wickets. He is the highest wicket taker in BD and has 3 five wicket hauls in ODI whereas Shakib has none.

Bechara dukhho kore bolei fello:

Until he starts acting like 28 and not 68, no one will like him. It's not sad. He isn't just doesn't have a character.

Why does a player have to have certain characteristics to be likable? He is a nice guy and he is contributing regularly for his team. What more do you want?

I think we're too used to him contributing. I know I am and expect a wicket every time he comes in to bowl. We take him for granted, which shows how consistent he has been throughout his career.

Umm IDK if you are new to this world, but unless you have a strong character you hardly get talked about. Who do you think gets talked more Tamim or Bhimrul? Why Tamim, because he is exciting.

Nice guys finish last. I don't make up the rules.

Yup that happens to me too. I get more excited to see him bowling than Shakib. I just know that he will get a wicket sooner or later. Nowadays he is actually giving the early breakthroughs !!

He's a quiet man that's why but certainly underrated. Don't forget that not only he is the highest wicket taker in ODIs for Bangladesh but also in T20s.

Kanta has an official thread but poor Razzak doesn't. He's our highest wicket-taker in ODIs and deserves his own thread. He's been in subliminal form with the ball this year after a disappointing 2011. 12 wickets at 17.66.

This IS his official thread. Not all the OTs have OTs written on em.

It's actually not an official thread. Someone just wanted an update on him and created this thread back in 2004. And Razzak has not been discussed in this thread thereafter.

Yeah it is pretty sad that Razzak doesn't have an official discussion thread to celebrate his performances. He is probably the most unfairly treated player in the team (by the fans). Yes he has his flaws and they do cost us sometimes but his contributions are hardly ever appreciated. He is about to become our first ever bowler to get 200 ODI wickets. Advance congratulations.

I am starting to wonder once he gets injured /retires what will happen to our ODI team, he does get a good chunk of wickets...

With gazi coming through, sunny showing his ability and enamul taking loads of wickets I think we are fine for spin for a good few years. But razzak still has many years left....
