Default The Curious Case of Farhad Reza

How is this guy in the squad??? Politics or mental madness on part of the selectors? He is probably one of the most mediocre players i have ever seen. Bowls medium pace and puts the ball short, has zero variation, negligible batting skills. Heck he reminds of a thinner version of Khaled Mahmud but worse. And he is an ex ICL rebel too on top all that so even his commitment to the country is questionable.

Definitely politics....he has been in and around the squad for a while. He should be nowhere near cricket....maybe playing with his friends at home is fine even then I would not select him on my team. Not only does he score ducks he gives away ****loads of runs. He is basically an anti-allrounder, or all rounder playing for the opposition.

He just came in the team out of no where. Coincidentally he got selected as soon as Farouqe had become the head selector. I can't even remember him doing anything extraordinary in T20 domestic. His selection just defies logic.

Well I've always seen him as 12th man and I guess they finally used T20 as an excuse to put him in the starting XI.

Can someone explain why he was brought on to bowl?

Hong Kong were seriously struggling against the spinners, and then Reza comes on and predictably gets carted. I don't understand why Mushy didn't stick with spin. Sabbir one over, 1/3... he was wasted by bringing him on for the first time in the 19th over.

Strange captaincy, the field placement was quite odd too. So many easy singles when the HK batsmen were struggling to generate pace off the ball when the spinners were on.

He is a domestic bully

Now, a domestic bully in other countries would probably succeed in the national arena but one needs to keep in mind that our domestics is substandard.

I think Mushfiq is forced to make Reza bowl and participate to be honest. He does make stupid decisions but even he would realize that Reza is useless. Even Rubel is better.

I am glad Poor had got to play and his "talent" was on display for the whole nation to watch. Now, kick him and his benefactor Faruque out. Faruque was one of the most talentless batsmen to lead the country. Didn't like him then. Don't like him now.

He only has a decent average with the ball. But 27 in list A in BD is like 40 in the real world. He averages 9 with the bat and 39 with the ball in international cricket....I doubt he would make the Bermuda team.

Lol he has been in the squad since the recent Asia Cup. Before that, he wasn't even in the picture. Some newcomer among the selectors must be a huge fangirl of his.

In all sincereness (okay, I kid), he is probably the only that deserves to be in the team. With his "talent" can you imagine the things he "had to do" to make it to the team? That's real sacrifice.

Good question.

he is not a srike bolwer, never will be. Not a contain bowler, bleeds runs like crazy. And he is not even a half decent batsman.

Why is he here?

Selector continue to select him in the team and captain/coach continue to trust on him by selecting in the fanal four while players like momin cannot get a chnace nor container bowler like Zia.

From #6 to the end .... the team is full of rubbish batsman.

It's not a case of either this or that. Its a case of both.

So yes, both Razzak as well as Farhad should not be in the team.

Ideally Zia should have been in the team instead of Farhad, Riyad taking Razzak's role ( bowling and batting) and you bring back Momin in the team.
