Happy with the ODI Squad?

Not happy, some very questionable selection.
Imrul Kayes? why has he been selected?
He played 5 ODIs in the last 12 months, average 25, highest score of 68 (nothing so special).
Nasir Hossain?
We saw in BPL how selfish he could be with his batting, lost Sylhet couple of matches with his awful batting, played to score for himself not the team. Why is he in the team? surely we are not looking to play him as a finisher? proved it in BPL, he can't do the job with the bat. Nonsense selection, especially when you have a genuine specialist off spinner in Miraz. I would play Miraz in the XI instead of Nasir the part timer.
Mohammed Mithun/Anamul Haque/Mushfiqur Rahim?
What is the point of taking three wicket-keepers in the team? can you not have a specialist batman or bowler?

Why wasn't Ariful Haque included in the squad as a finisher?

Could have opted for one of Hider or Jayed, instead of Abul Hasan

Soumya Sarkar scored 243 runs in 11 innings last year at an average of 29.3 and strike rate of 89.07.
Hmm - so they drop him based on the domestic performance? lol.
He was also looking very good against South Africa in the T20s..
Just don't understand his exclusion considering he never really performs in our domestics.

I see no reason why Abul Hassan is picked. Have you seen his stats? One of the worst ever as a bowler! He played six ODIs, bowled 192 deliveries and ZERO wicket. Numbers don't lie!!! His first class average is close to 35 (Ref: 23 average for Mustafiz). He can get away with 1-2 bad deliveries in domestic but not in international cricket. Unless he improved drastically, I think he is a poor choice.

The most important thing is for us to win regardless of whoever plays.. I dont think there is any conspiracy but the team is selected based on captain and coach`s opinion. They know the best from inside. Hope whoever is playing gives his best.

Abel could make the side as a lower order hitter alone. Our batting stops as soon as the 6th wicket falls.
Rony and Mosaddek should have been picked IMO.

I think they could have picked a better squad, a few questionable choices.

This. I will never understand what Imrul has accomplished to constantly get picked over and over again.

Why has Liton been dropped again? Do the selectors really think Imrul is a better choice at this point?
I hate BCB and the idiots that run this farce of a board.

Tamim, Anamul, Mushfiqur, Mahmudullah, Shakib, Nasir, Shabbir, Saifuddin, Mashrafe, Rubel and Fizz.
Experience is plenty. I'll stick with Mushfiq as keeper. I'll pick Saifuddin due to his all-round capabilities. Provides an option as a 4th seamer. We also bat deep. I chose Anamul because he has done well in this format – let's be honest. He was unlucky last time due to injury, so he technically didn't lose his place. Hope he makes it count. I'm hoping he has improved somewhat now. This series is a make or break for his international career now. Bowling options are covered. The key player with the bat will be Tamim, and the key player with the ball will be the Fizz.
If I had my way, I would choose this 15 player squad: Tamim, Anamul, Mushfiqur, Mahmudullah, Shakib, Nasir, Shabbir, Nurul, Mashrafe, Rubel and Fizz. The 4 players in the bench will be Hider, Mosaddek, Saifuddin and Liton.

I reckon Hathu will be asking his batsmen to take Saifuddin to cleaners. He has not done enough with bat (even at domestics) yet to justify his AR tag either.

Why imrul in the team? Besides other things, he has strong backing from senior players who are now part of combo-coach management.
I am glad that they are sticking with Saifuddin. Once you bring a young player like him, you stick with him a little longer. He showed some poise and promise in his limited chance in national team. Let's see who bleed more runs in this series before already declaring him a failure.
I was kind of disappointed that Litton was dropped. I think he is a real deal.

Not happy at all
Squad for first two ODIs: Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes (???), Anamul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Nasir Hossain (?), Sabbir Rahman, Mohammad Mithun (???), Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Abul Hasan (?), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mohammad Saifuddin, Sunzamul Islam (?)
As I've said many times already, Imrul should be dropped PERMANENTLY from any LOI format.
When you already have 2 keepers, why pick a 3rd one (Mohammad Mithun)? Instead you could have gone with a batsman, Shanto perhaps.
Nasir Hossain hasn't done anything extra-ordinary for BAN since his last inclusion. And he is certainly not a finisher. His bowling isn't good for domestic let alone for Int'l level.
Abul Hasan is a wrong choice. Rather should have picked a genuine pacer (Rony or Rahi). And what did Sunjamul Islam do to be the 15th player like always? I don't get it.

Mithun is actually a good choice. Been a top performer in domestics. He hasnt been given a proper go in the national set up. Dont get why ppl calling for imrul to be dropped wen he was one was our better players in SA.

It's good to see Anamul return, but I'm not happy with his hair. He was unlucky the last time he played an ODI as he was injured during play. Technically, he didn't lose his place, but with so much competition now, I'm not at all surprised why it has taken him so long to have return to the side. Personally, I would like to see him be in the test side due to his wonderful temperament. It would be interesting to see how much he has improved since he had issues with his technique despite scoring three one-day hundreds.
