Next Generation Wicketkeeper: Who is after Khaled Masud Pilot?
Who is our next generation wicketkeeper after Khaled Masud Pilot? I could not name any other wicketkeepers top of my mind. So, I tried to gether some information about the wicketkeepers who played for U-17, U-19, U-21, U-23, BD-A and NL Divisional teams in recent times and over last couple of years. I found the follwoing list of name:
01. Dhiman Ghosh 02. Sahagir Hossain 03.Hasibul Haoq
04. Anwar Hossain 05. Kuntal Chandra 06.Mohammed Salim
07. Mizanur Rahman 08. Jasimuddin 09. MD Golam Mortuza
10. Golam Mabud 11. Shahin Hossain 12. Mohammad Rabbi
13. Sajjad Kadir 14. Nayan Kumar 15. Shamimul Haque
A surprisingly big list indeed. Does anyone know which are the most promising names among these wicketkeepers?

Actually
Mohammed Salim was the one selected when Pilot got dropped for a while after the World Cup. He played two Tests and one ODI against South Africa.
Anwar Hussain was strangely enough picked solely as a batsman, an opening batsman at that, for 1 Test and 1 ODI against West Indies in November 2002! He was actually picked for the 3rd ODI, in which he scored a patient 42 as an opener, second highest score after Kapali's 89 not out. That prompted the selectors to pick him for the first Test, again as an opener, but he scored 14 in two innings, so he was dropped never to be picked again. I have to say, we had some strange selections under Aliul!
As for keepers, I guess Dhiman is one to look out for!

Dhiman is a serious contender for this slot. Pilot has simply made this his own. There is no comparison for ths experienced campaigner.
I thought mohd Salim had potential but he was more of a batsmen than wicket keeper. As for Anwar, he still has a shot but he needs to prove himself all over again. I know Dhiman can bat, but can he keep at the highest level ? Is quick/agile enough to support our spinners ?

Considering that our test attack in the next 5-10 years, at home is likely to feature two spinners, I'd rather know about these candidates' keeping abilities on a crumbling turner. The "keeper has to be a batsmen" is a luxury for teams that generate oodles of chances. Our bowlers are not yet consistently penetrative enough for us to mess around on that front.

You missed the brightest prospect of them all.
Mushfiqur Rahim the young 16 year old from Bogra. He toured with U19 boys.
He is a bit similar to Parthiv Patel in height and is a good batsmen, but plenty of room for improvement.

I believe Dhiman and Rahim are the main contenders. However, Mashud has quite a few years left in him!!
Dhiman has a good strike rate therefore one-day keeper/batsman, while Rahim is a little more patient/sedate in his batting. They toured England last year with U19. Dhiman is very young. By the time Khaled retires both will be at the right sort of age to take the stage. Importantly both will have had exposure at international cricket at all age levels. What B'desh needs is a squad of players, competeing for places esp. quickies as they break down so easily.

it would be really helpful if people could format tables like these before posting them, or at least provide the link so that we can look at some well formatted data. would be more comforting for the eye.

Mizanur Rahman played as WC for BCB Cricket Board XI against MCC in 2000 at Rajshahi.
Jasimuddin played as WC for Dhaka Metropolitan XI against MCC in 2000 at Dhaka.

Indeed..it's painful for eyes. Is there any way to post messages here with tables? That would be nice. I don't know how to put those data in table here in the forum.
Actually, these are compiled data...not just cut and paste. To get them in well formatted way, you will have to first search all the BD scorecards for all Domestic and international age groups teams to find out who played as Wicketkeeper. Then you need to go to each individual player page one by one to see their stat. In that case, you will not get all player stat together as comparative data.
