Debate: Is it disrespectful to eat pork before my muslim family member?
Scenario. I am not muslim. More offensively, I used to be but no more. I go to a restaurant with some dude with funny last name. Is it disrespectful to order and eat pork in front of him?
Goal. Pi-- off and get some member banned.
Result. The guy with the least invalid logical statement wins.
This should be good.
Go. You have till midnight.

Sometimes it is very hard to discuss or opine within the law of the forum on certain topics.
I sometime wish there was a platform where someone didn't need to worry about the ban hammer.
it's so bad when you can tell certain posters have a infectious behaviour towards certain religion, agenda etc yet you feel like a prisoner as you know if you say something, it may be considered bigotry and get permanent ban.
You would sometimes wonder, why they don't go to a big platform and ask qualified people, instead of infecting certain opinion on people (those) that are unaware or unqualified to know the answer as they didn't study x,y,z topic/subject/course etc

yikes you might just end up being the most hated man on this forum lol.
I guess it depends on which family members you are talking about. If its your parents, and they are devout muslims, then I guess you would hurt their feelings, and hurting your parents feelings is disrespectful no matter what.
If its some uncle/aunt, then who cares, eat that bacon.

Why only pork? How about eating a bowl of snake soup or the fine sliced flesh of a horse? (In japan there is a place where people eat almost raw flesh of finely sliced horse meat)
Good luck with the thread. I hope it will be successful...

You shouldn't have a problem when eating out with your friends.

To make it more complicated. Suppose you take three friends. First one objects to pork. Second one is a Hindu and get gets mighty offended if you eat beef. Third one is a vegan, so you can't possibly eat chicken.
Question: What the **** do you eat then?

My father was a health surveyor, and he said pigs have the same heart structure as humans,so its possible to get more disease with pork to meat than that is not pork.
My father who was an atheist said whoever came up with this in the bible was a genius,Jews don't eat pork either.

^ How does similar heart structure correlate to higher likelihood of disease?

No Not necessarily true, however humans and pigs do treat fats/fatty acids the same way
Pig hearts are not exactly the same as human hearts. pigs have a large vessel to the rear of the heart from which blood from both the heart and the left chest wall is drained. In human hearts, there is a vessel called the azygous vein that supports the left cardinal vein in draining blood from the heart. Pigs do not have an azygous vein, and consequently, their cardinal vein is very large and drains blood not only from the heart but from the chest itself.

He did deal with a cholera outbreak in the outback,or was it botulism,he had to deal with.
It was the 60's or the 70's.

It's all down to how acceptable, comfortable or tolerant your family members are with you eating pork.
Better to avoid IMO.

And then hed' sayJames Watt again.
He was a very strange teacher.
I never was a morning person, and we had Physics in the morning.
