good achievement. However I wonder whats the point of re-inventing the wheel. I understand chinese search engine baidu being more popular than google/bing in China because of the language barrier, but that isnt the case in the sub-continent...
anyway, couldnt load the page, so cant comment on the layout or user experience...

Good start.
But it's too simple. I hope they would upgrade in time.

Good start, but not sure if it's a good move. Anyway, good luck to the engineers.

Good initiative.
According to their info, it does not fall under a search engine, especially the likes of google/yahoo/msn/baidu,...tirjok is a metasearch site which basically consolidates/filters results from multiple search engines.

Not sure what you meant my OS in Bangla. Bangla is just a language; computer has nothing to do with any specific language. There are already several Linux distro out there with full Bangla localization. Here is one:

As an IR specialist and having worked on and built specialized search engines for years, I am quite interested in knowing more about the Tirjok group. Can someone point me to some techie in the group? If not IP, I would be interested in knowing a bit more about their ranking algorithms and what makes it better than using page-rank like algorithms that seem to give the user the most relevant documents in response to a search query.
I am also curious as to the size of their index - and how many documents are in the index. The responses seem fairly rapid and number of documents seem quite large - so, I am assuming either a non-BD server farm or the use of cloud services.
Any idea as to the P/R numbers of this search engine?

After analyzing the hit-list for some sample search queries - I just realized that this is a metasearch engine.
A metasearch engine sends users' queries to one or more existing search engines and then aggregates the results into one list or shows the source of each search engine used. A metasearch engine can be useful in that it allows more of the web to be retrieved than by any one search engine (depends on which engine was used) but suffers in relevancy - this is because one is creating an amalgamation of results from different engines that use different relevance rankings.
In it's simplest from a metasearch engine can be implemented by a few pages of Javascript - form accepts query, issues query to third party search engines, resultant hit list is aggregated via unique URL and combined ranking estimated, final result list is then displayed...

That could be the reason of showing too many results for a search, but then how they are so fast?

So in other words, we should take away the engineering degrees from Tirjoks? Please I am confused. I am so dumb. idumb.
I don't know why we need a new search engine everyday? You can search google in any language I think.
Guys why don't you make video search and photo search engine. I think we are in great need of that.

First - would you not like to make the Google killer? Many have tried but if you $ucceed...
I assume Orphy meant more QA (question answering) systems for images and videos...
e.g.
- Find me a video clip where there are two men discussing cricket
- I want to find a picture of a lighthouse at night along the marlyland shore
- Find me pictures of cricket stadium where a game is in progress
Image and video search is the next big thing...

google's new image search result looks very disgusting.doesn't show the image size, source beneath the image like before.page full of nearly 40 pictures takes more time to load fully.
is there any way to get back to old option ?
