I have no doubt that Tamim should be dropped. He is done. Also, we don't want his negative influence on the young lads. I will bring in LKD/Rony for the ODIs and Majid for the Test. We need to prepare them for the long term.

and what happens after majid becomes proven failure? the cycle continues?

Yes that's the risk of too many experiments and not allowing anyone a long run to mature and settle down.

If tamim is to be dropped i'd go with liton and soumya as openers and mushy at 3. dont think that's very likely though so keep soumya at 3, bring litton into open while anamul is injured then see how tamim goes and if he isn't doing well when anamul returns then anamul can take tamim's spot.

I like Soumya, but voted for Tamim for the other spot, only because I see no replacement right now. However, I no longer see him as our long-term solution. No hunger!

Then in comes ChockMock Sen. Simple .
Banfan,
Talking about long run, mature and what not; Tamim's 145 ODIs run is not exactly a 50m sprint.
Never was a fan of extra-mature cheese. Maybe, because I'm not French. Are you?

Interesting to see most of the fans still have faith on an off-form Tamim.
Ironically, I don't see him being able to carry the responsibilities of a giving a solid start as he doesn't seem to be in good physical and mental shape.

He needs a few things, which might no longer be possible unless something changes in him.
1. Motivation to be the best.
2. Fitness.
3. Eat the right type of food.
4. Stop smoking.
5. ...

Mahmudullah is not an opening batsmen, he cant play swing well. And scores too slow.

tamim proven failure--- dont agree.
he has done enough to be considered the all time best opener of BD. people have bad patch and he is going through it. so give him some time before crucifying him
his last few match performance was not brilliant but still he made 95, 25 runs and shown glimpse of form

A clean slate is needed. Tamim definitely needs a break from cricket. Players from under 19 squad as anamul and sardar are needed to open the batting. They are much more competitive

I would've gone with Tamim and Soumya. I think going forward we need to aggressive openers to put the opposition on the back foot.

Saying Mahmudullah cant play swing well is the most horrible thing I have heard. Mahmudullah is the best swing player in the team. He got plenty of runs in swinging conditions over swinging and seaming opponents. Dont forget his Test century in Hamilton agsinst NZ.
But I agree that he cant be opening batsman.

DO NOT CLOSE THE POLL so early in any future threads as such. Five days is not enough. Not every one can see the thread when it is buried under other threads. Unless Mods help you out and make them sticky, leave it open. What's the rush. Real team selection is still a week or two away.
My vote goes for Tamim (22) and Liton (18). That is 19th equal to Anamul. I am sure BD TigersZ have someone else in his mind as well.

5 days is enough. Mods did make the "Your 2015 BanglaCricket XI" thread sticky and all the polls and teams are being updated thru there so its not my fault you didn't pay attention to that thread or werent able to see this thread. There are many other polls to go thru and its going to take over 2 months if i make it a week per poll. That's too slow.
