Every single player aside from Mashrafe (veteran player) has suffered under Walsh. When we had Heath Streak, the players seem to hold a good line and length. There was also that the players thought of Aaqib Javed as someone who was easy to understand and approach. I think we also approached him as our bowling coach but he took PSL role and rather accepted short term stint.

Steve Rhodes talked about drill work today amongst other things. Reminded me of Heath Streak.

He use to make the pacers go through certain drill.. before matches...

I was thinking... Steve couldn't have been that successful at Worcester being like really bad? could it be that we might have pulled in a good coach?

Definitely pulled in a good coach. He also had a job of head scout for ECB where he would go around and spot talent. We need someone like him in Bangladesh and get rid of these under-performing favourites from the team.

Need someone who can develop talent into performance, current under performing youngsters have talent but they just haven't improved, if anything they've gotten worse. A talent spotter is also great to have but definitely need someone who has the ability to turn talent into results.

If new coach has some say in selection in the upcoming series it will be interesting because he's got not much to go on other than stats and what he sees in practise. Hopefully he goes on what he sees and knows (as limited as it may be) not on what other management and senior players say. After all if you hire a coach you have to be confident in their abilities and their vision and back them.

Also need someone strong who can enforce good work ethic and professionalism and who doesn't let the seniors throw their power around.

...
Man I'll be happy with him just spotting "talent" seeing as how we're severely lacking in this department of late.

We definitely need talent spotters , at the moment our talent spotters are busy seeing talent in players like Abul Hasan and footwork-less anamul who then gets exposed in internationals

His not a legend like Courtney Walsh...

One of the reason why Walsh still in the job is because of the press.
They don’t go after him because his a legend.

Imbeciles. Can’t do their job properly!

The press have zero idea about the game and just ask questions based on results. This case is true for majority of sports journalists.

Our contemporary (Bangladeshi) 'press' - journalists are predominantly 'poorly' educated or born of extremely 'limited' education' and often are involved in 'corruption' themselves (meaning, "they will write something bad about someone in one of the thousands of no value, no name printed sidewalk tabloids/trash - unless the someone pays them cash aka bribe" - I have solid proof on this statement that i just made). The majority and I mean a 'large' majority of our 'journalists' in Bangladesh are 'crap' and in a day to day business, they survive simply by 'plagiarism' and copying articles and items from foreign publishing or others without acknowledging or giving zero credit (I can literally provide hundreds of proof on this also

And that being said, of course, there are exceptions - like Rabid Imam and Mohammad Isam (aka Dizzy in BC).
