The suggested changes don’t have much backing because there isn’t enough A team cricket to show naeem or tushar or whoever should be ahead of those already picked.
Also 2 matches isn’t enough for a new player, shanto shouldn’t be dropped, mosaddek shouldn’t have been dropped (though he’s not been in good form in NCL).
I mean if you look at domestic numbers then it looks like a good idea to pick naeem and tushar but what if they fail early on like for example shanto? (Shanto has good domestic numbers, liton has awesome domestic numbers). Are we going to give naeem and tushar 2 matches and then say they suck and ask for their heads?
No, by now it should be obvious, if we want the team to develop then we need a solid group of about 15 who are consistently picked, consistently get matches and if not international matches then regularly getting A team matches so they can continue to develop whilst why are a fringe national team player.
Shanto for example has been around the team most of he year but aside from domestic cricket he’s barely played because he’s a bench player and there is not enough A team cricket so he’s basically lost a year’s worth of development. This is happening to soo many of the players.
Take an al amin for example, he’s been around the domestic circuit for probably at least 5 years and he is still young, has done a really solid job with the bat in multiple formats but he’s stuck in domestic cricket, never gets the chance to develop further bar a couple of A team matches here and there if he’s lucky enough to be picked when there is A team cricket.
