Bad Umpiring is killing us!
Giving just 1 bad decision in cricket can change the entire outcome of a game. It is like giving a wrong penalty in soccer. But 3-4 bad decisions? How about 3-4 bad decisions in an ODI? Is there any reason to play?
Does Asoka De Silva has to be involved in every single BD game?
And then give 3-5 bad decisions (or may I say biased decisions) against BD?
Is this his mission to destroy our cricket or ICC decision to ruin every single game BD has been playing?
This idiot has done so much damage that it is beyond imagination. With 2-3 more probabale test win including the one in Multan, our test status would be a lot stronger. Amazingingly there has been no official complaint against him by BCB. If there was any, obviously they were not strong enough!
Asoka fails to realize there is no other team in the world would accept him as an
umpire. No BD in test, No job for Asoka. Remember him being given bad decision against Sachin Tendulkar? This loser then never got a chance to stand in any India's game afterwards.
After the first test with so many bad decisions this moron had a nerve to complian to the match referee costing 10% match fee for Sakib and 5% match fee for Shahadat! Excessive appeal? How come there is no match fee reduction for so many bad decisions?
I love watching the game live but this idiot simply ruins everything. And we are all letting this happen as if nobody can do anything about it. If I was the captain, I would simply walk out of the game to send a clear message to ICC.

Ashoka is incompetent for sure, but don't think he is biased. Some of his bad decisions went in favor of us also.

Not against the better team.
While the India tour right after WC 07 created horrific feelings as the ODI series was completely altered by him from 2-1 to 0-3.

Well...a thread for every game about Ashoka seems to be the norm.
We should probably create one master thread and vent there...at least we'll know about all his screw-ups.

Asoka is actually the best allrounder of the world. He can take wickets at will, he can get life at will. The ICC should honor him with the best allrounder medal.

Actually Ashoka is a very bad umpire.
My question is why the hell he has to be in almost every BD series?

Because he has to live by umpiring and no other team wants to take him in their matches. So only BD is left for him.

Then ICC should sack him.

This is only his eighth Test involving Bangladesh since doing it for the first time in 2001-02. But when the team is not doing well, it is more convenient to think that is the umpire's fault and not the players

BTW, umps had handed us wickets of Richards and Dowlin (two most vital wickets in current WI team!) in ongoing WI innings - that should absolve them of their past injustice to Bangladesh team

Just read this article in a related topic -
http://www.cricinfo.com/ci-icc/conte...ry/410404.html
ICC board meeting
ICC gives umpire reviews the go-ahead
The umpire review system will be rolled out in Test cricket from October this year and umpires will have greater scope to decide on bad-light interruptions after the ICC adopted several recommendations from its cricket committee. The potential for a day-night Test in 2010 was also discussed at the ICC's meetings in Lord's this week, as was harsher penalties for slow over rates.
It was expected that the umpire review system would be introduced permanently following trials over the past year. This week's gatherings, including the ICC Chief Executives' Committee meeting on Monday and Tuesday, and the first day of the ICC board meeting on Wednesday, confirmed the development.
It was also agreed that day-night cricket would be explored further, with the potential for a day-night Test in 2010, if such issues as developing an appropriate ball and trialing it at first-class level could be resolved. Finding a suitable coloured ball remains one of the major stumbling blocks and Australia are keen to test several prototypes during a mock match, possibly during the 2009-10 summer.
The meetings also determined that play should only be suspended for bad light when umpires decided conditions were unreasonable or dangerous, rather than "unsuitable", as is currently the case. The umpires are expected to make that call on their own instead of offering the light to the batsmen.
Fines for slow over-rates will be doubled and a captain of a team guilty of three over-rate fines in the same format in a rolling 12-month period will be automatically suspended for one match. Match officials will also be encouraged to be more diligent in enforcing the playing conditions to minimise delays due to such interruptions as unscheduled drinks breaks.
The development of a new Future Tours Programme was also discussed. The ICC board meeting continues on Thursday, when the members will discuss, among other things, the 2011 World Cup.

Spot on.
But still 8 tests is enough for Ashoka to label himself as 'Killer Ashoka'

Bangladesh isn't the only side who gets dodgey decisions, every team gets them sometimes. the current Aus V Eng Ashes match has been full of dodgey decisions, they even have a thread dedicated to it over at cricketweb.

It has been said so many times by the officials and retired player that the umpiring standard has lower down at present.
