This is not how Test cricket works. No other team does this.
The people in this forum is quick to point out that the replacement for this x or y player is much worse. That doesnt change the fact that sabbir wasnt ready. His approach and temperament is to score and play shots, fits the mould for an odi and T20 player. Even a quick hundred means jack for a test no 7 batsman. He has failed to prolong, draw, win a test match whenever we needed him to STAY AT THE CREASE. He has failed to play well with the tail ender, something you expect for your test no 7. He is a very good top order bat in the limited overs and there is no denying there. Yet playing him ahead of someone like shanto or mosaddek, who may not produce goods right away but will be much better investment in the long run in the longer format. Lets make a test team out of TEST PLAYERS.

Can't wait 'til Sabbir scores a hundred in his next couple of games, and a new thread titled "IS THE WORLD READY FOR SABBIR?" is opened.

Simple you cannot play that sweep shot at that stage.. no one cannot take your wicket in the patta if you dont want. Why he had to play that high risk shot ? He should play like miraz. Mushi was bullet proof at the other end.

Shabbir has not grown maturity yet to play test as a genuine batsman.

He doesnt deserve to be in test team. No temperament. No technique whatsoever.

3 50s

3 50s don't cut it for a genuine batsman. Those 50s were barely 50s, not big scores like 80s and definitely not close to 100.

With Riyad managing to hang on... Sabbir will most likely face the axe to bring in either Liton or Sohan. Let him focus on ODI and T20 for now

Man that is harsh, 3 50s in 5 matches while Riyad gets one since God knows when but the former still gets dropped

Sabbir isnt ready for test cricket. Defences well but very frequently tries to play risky shots. Let him work on his temperament. Riyad isnt gonna be dropped that easily. He maybe pushed down the order if Mushy gives up keeping. Riyad has a better chance of succeeding at no.6 or 7 then Sabbir

Performance means nothing in BD cricket. That's why we are world beaters.

Not that Riyad performed well but

Riyad in last 10 innings= 295 runs
Sabbir in last 10 innings= 247 runs

So I dont know how he performed better then Riyad. If Riyad gets dropped its because he failed to perform despite playing for so long. Sabbir by no means performed better then him though

That just shows sabbir the youngster who has more time to improve is already on par with riyad the senior who still isn't performing that great (not horrible but a higher standard should be expected).

I'd take sabbir with that in mind.

Shabbir should focus on loi and riad should come diwn at 6 to try. Liton should be in... what Shabbir did in domestic longer version?? He needs to play there first tbh.

As i said generally quick 30/ 40 runs mean mothing in test. You need to spend time n play according to the situation.

30/40 don't mean anything but riads 20/30 is valuable?

And what after he fails at 6, try him opening and at number 10?, what's the point of having a full batsman at 6, either you are good enough for top 5 or you should be dropped... Sabbir is young, so he gets a pass, but he shouldn't be in the team either

Sarkar has shown enough to be given a run in the top 3/4 in my opinion

Give Litton or Nurul the gloves also

Soumya like sabbir hasn't done much in domestic FC, so if Soumya should play then I don't see why anyone should be against sabbir playing.

Both Sabbir and Mahmudullah are under pressure at the moment. Sabbir may have to make way for Liton or Nurul if management decides to include a specialist wicket keeper and play Mushfiq only as a batsman which is a sensible decision.

Sabbir has only just started, riyad should make way, there is much more upside to keeping sabbir rather than riyad at this point int their careers.
