They were doing ok. Paying the price for parting with Graham Ford.

The current interim coach was supposed to be sacked from his previous role as a fielding coach. And now he is in charge of the team. Will never work out.

One series loss to Zimbabwe is not the end of the world. Zimbabwe played well and full credit to them. Sri Lanka also beat India in the Champions Trophy just recently.

But veterans like Matthews/Malinga and other new players should not depend that much on the coach. Ford or not, they should be able to Zim in their own turf.

I though the win against India was a turning point but this 5 match series shows otherwise. They are still in long recovery period.

Sanga just tweeted and highlighted the politics and favoritism within the SL board. I feel like SL has good players with a solid pipeline. But they are just not getting any chances due to politics or other reasons.

That's why our Papon is the best

Zimbabwe has consumed some viagra to rejuvenate their cricket. We should think of letting them tour us or we tour them to fill out some voids in the calendar year.

Matter of time before ZC messes up.

Thats our time to capitalize. I always wanted Streak as our head coach. Bring Grant Flower as batting coach.

Excellent series win. Nobody expected this to happen. It's good to see teams among the bottom fighting it out for the 10th place. I actually want Zimbabwe to reclaim their original position since they are a full member side. We must not lose Zimbabwe Cricket. I think Bangladesh should tour Zimbabwe for a change, and play a full series.

Yes we should definitely tour Zimbabwe. Last time we toured was in 2013. We lost the ODI series 3-2 and drew the test series.

Infact I felt that we could easily tour Zimbabwe next month if Australia cancels on us

Must be high for chandimal, only knew he'd be captain for a couple of days and already leading his first charge. Not sure he's the right man for the job but let's see how he goes.

Zimbabwe has the upper hand after the first two days. Somehow, if things continue like this, they might stand a chance to win this test match

If Zimbabwe were half-decent hosts, I'd have no qualms with touring them. But they're notoriously poor in hospitality and their facilities are questionable with regard to international quality. Our national team have complained at least once already from what I recall.

so excited for world cup 2019...literally anyone can win it.

Expecting Sri Lankan young guns to mature more till then
Afghanistan has another 16 year old promising off-spinner to accompany Rashid khan(that could be the spin duo of wasim waqar lol)
Zimbabwe resurgent under streak. Pakistan resurgent under Mickey Arthur.
West Indies is no joke when old players back in form as shown in World cup T20 2016.
The other teams not mentioned here always have a shot at cup(India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa...)

Exciting time to be a cricket fan.

Bangladesh better up their game and plug in the missing holes

Wow, Cremer is simply one of the best spin bowlers in the world at the moment.

Cremer to Chandimal, OUT, edged and taken. Sri Lanka in all sorts of trouble. And it's Cremer again. Draws the batsman forward with a nicely looped up length ball. Chandimal pushes forward and gets a thick outside edge that just about escapes past the right of the keeper's glove but not the waiting hands of first slip
Bowling Shane Warne type stuff.

Zimbabwe have suddenly turned a big corner, they look lot more organised and professional now than say a few months ago. Hats of to them for winning the ODI series against Lanka in SL.

It's important Zimbabwe wins this test. They even beat Pakistan not that long ago, but problem is that they don't play that many tests. Don't forget that Zimbabwe have lost a lot of good players. Zimbabwe is important for the sport.

True that. They were a fantastic combo.

Good to see that him in the Zimbabwe setup is really propelling their cricket.

Some really good coaches have been Zimbabweans. ..most famous was Andy Flower. I think Grant Flower also coached or batting coach for Pakistan a few years ago.

They are very result oriented.
