First ODI win on home soil for PNG's cricket team

PNG's cricket team had an historic win against Scotland in their second One Day International in Port Moresby, beating the Scots by 5 wickets.

It was their first ODI victory on home soil, after they lost to Scotland in their initial meeting on Friday.

Director of Cricket PNG, Gayan Loku, says the team was under a lot of pressure after a disappointing performance in the first match.

Congrats PNG, they are an up and coming cricket team, pretty big to get a win over the scots.

PNG have been putting the work in for a while now. I remember Andy Bichel was their head coach or Director of cricket something like that. After him they have recruited another high profile Aussie too whose name I can't remember.

I hope Fiji rises too. We used to play them in ICC trophy. I think they are trying to up the ante lately. Recruiting Jurgensen and qualifying for under-19 WC in Dhaka are the signs of big things to come. The problem is the Indian population is Fiji are not interested in Cricket.

Congrats PNG!

First time I ever heard about PNG was in Sep 1996 - when we played them in Pepsi ACC Trophy. 20 years ago! That match was live on TV. Was so exited to see a live BD match. Those were the days! BC new generation won't understand the pain we had to go through! LOL
