Very Bangladesh like.

But the more pertinent point is that the fewer points SL lose in this series, the more fractional points we gain when we hammer them 2-0 in a few weeks time.

This tour should condition SL well before they come to Bangladesh. We on the other hand will play in the Tri-Series a month after BPL.

BCB should have done something similar to last year - invite Afghans before facing a stronger team.

Only 1 month before BPL and Tri series. Will need that time to recover from niggles, etc.

Afghans would actually be a tougher assignment than either SL or ZIM.

Don't get too over-confident, SL test side in Asia is on per with if not better than BD atm, not many sides could whitewash pak at home.

Them slow, low dustbowls were perfect for Misbah and his gameplans, now with Sarfraz being the captain I expect the pitches to be made differently, the pitches during SL series were quite different than previous ones, never seen the ball turning like that from day one in UAE before, it will still take them a series or two to find that comfort zone of a pitch that suits their current approach.

How much is the rent on Pakistan's home in the UAE. Damn rent is getting higher around the world.
Pakistan should use AirBnb lets their players acclimatize to different conditions.

We drew in SL so at home anything less than 1-0 win would be a step backwards. And a 2-0 is a better result. SL team hasnt won anything since 3-0 vs Australia which is such a long time back, that BD hadnt even won a Test match at that time.

Beating Pak in UAE doesn't count?

Depends on how PAK does over the next year or two. They seemed quite underwhelming post MisYou.

Hard to disagree with this. Still I think Pak underestimated SL big time and paid heavily, do not make the same mistake, SL when on song can give any team a run for their money in Asia. This gonna be a closely fought series but BD should win I think. I will mostly look forward to see what kind of pitches you prepare, my guess is wickets gonna be flat since BD clearly has better batting but SL bowling looks better organized and in form atm and also I hope this Haturi drama does not harm your team's morale.

SL with Hathurusingha wont be easy. He knows the grounds, the conditions, the players. SL is also slowly finding form, gaining confidence

How about a friendly wager? BD is not winning its home test series against SL. If they do, I will add a signature of your choice. If they don't, you have to add one of my choice.

Get urself prepared for another heartbreak

Don't forget that couple of months back this same srilankan team humiliated the Australian team whereas we just barely managed to survive against the very same opposition.

I don't think we have any chance in the test series. I really want to win the odis..SL has been god damn awful in odis recently..12 losses in a row and 2 of them to Zim at home

but we are known for getting teams back to form

Low odds on it happening though. Farquaad likes to talk a big game, but has trouble manning up.

This SL team is improving - they are starting to have a decent test batting unit, and BD's traditional spin strength at home won't be as effective against them. SL opening batsmen are better than BD's. And they have plenty of spinners of their own to take advantage. And if more of their pacers are fit, then they will have a better pace unit in tests compared to BD as well. Add to this, Agent Hathurasinghe is going to know every inch of the BD players games. I will be extremely surprised if SL doesn't win the test series in BD.

If it was wise to agree to wagers with someone you know is not honest enough to keep his end up, I'd have agreed. You can be trustworthy and still be a douche.

So I must decline your offer because there is very little chance of your keeping your end of the bargain.

That being said, a wager is an unnecessary formality. What would prevent you from logging on here and rubbing it in my face if BD loses the series?

I'll say it again, in case anyone missed it...BD to win the Test series vs SL in 2018, hopefully 2-0.

Even if I'm wrong, there is no reason to be embarassed when the opportunity to clap back at IndYeah presents itself.

My friend who thinks cricket is just an insect actually had the same insights. Pretty telling about your knowledge of the Lankan side over the past couple years.

So in the words of Jerry Seinfeld - you claim that you can win the race, but you "choose" not to run.

And yeah, when BD play SL, and I remember this little exchange, I will be sure to rub it in your face.

Got any actual cricket-related points to make, or counter the ones I raised - apart from throwing around silly kindergarten insults?

Precisely. Doubtful what happens if you decide to run and end up being the first past the finish line. Investors don't like uncertainty :p

And that would be better than any wager. Its what these forums are for. You beat me fair and square, you can say whatever you want. I'll be here.

Nah. That was so 2016. We live in a post fact age now, where up is down and purple is 12, so I no longer ply a trade in anything other than kindergarten insults.
