The fact is, even Sylhet gets an international status, it will not be used. For the next 50 yeras, any team visiting bangladeh will have the following fixture.

Practice match: Fotulla
T20: Mirpur
1st ODI: Mirpur
2nd ODI: Mirpur
3rd ODI: Chittgong
1st Test: Chittgong
2nd Test: Mirpur

Se what happed to Khulna and Bogra stadiums. One of the reason behid this is money but its not the main reason. Other resoans can be lack of vision, politics, unprofessaionalism etc.

Exactly..... We have seven international stadiums in 4 different cities. But only twos are used among them.

Lamisa, what makes you think people in Sylhet speak a different language. lol. I hope you meant Shuddho Bangla. Yes we do understand Shuddho Banngla. Sylhety is not a different language rather more of native dialect of Bangla. Well, that's just my opinion. Also, at least 20% of the people in Sylhet city are from other districts and a lot of them do not speak the local dialect. So no worries.

Will this be the first stadium ever where VIPs and press sit on the top of a skinned mountain (mountain for BD, hill for other)?

That's not a Hill...that's a Tilla! For Hills you have to go to Bandarban, Hill Tracts! And the Himalaya Range, Everest, K-2 those are Mountains.
We have Mount Keokaradong, that's a mountain, where our Mac/Mukib Mosleh climbed recently.

Anything shorter than a Tilla we call it a Dhibi in Brahmanbaira, a Burm.

Also must say Sylhet and Sylheties are some of the kindest and most hospitable people on the earth.

Yay now finally 'lal miah' will get his chance to shine during drinks break.

Mo bhai where is the divisional stadium located? I always thought we only that one around the 'stadium market' area. I didn't know we had another one.

Sorry Ajfar did not see your question.

Old Sylhet Stadium is in Rikabi Bazar. Pass Chowhatta>>>Alia Madrasa>>>> and its opposite Medical colony and the entrance is in Rikabi bazar end.

Sylhet Divisional Stadium is located near "chouki dekhi" off Airport Road.

I visited Sylhet last in 2008 and I was there almost one week but I didn't feel any problem. They could understand Bangla and I also understand sylheti properly because I lived sometime with sylheti people.
I'm concerned whether you understand sylheti.

arey vais give Lamisa Apu a break. Many of us who dont speak sylheti find it difficult to communicate with the people from Sylhet. My mom is from Sylhet and even I find it difficult to communicate with people who dont speak shuddho bangla. Thats something I am not proud of though..

Sylheti is hardly a bengali dialect... its a language in its own right and hence no one should be expected of speaking or understanding the language....

If the sylhetis are so adamant, that I propose them to go to Assam and undertsand everytime what those guys are saying... its close to bengali but not close enough!! I am sorry for the rant...

This is not something to be concerned about. Lamisa is not from sylhet and even if she was and she didnt understand sylheti whats the big deal?
