i was talkin to this indian guy the other day and he mentioned just one BD players as of "international calibre"...guess who he said??? friggin alok kapali...was it cuz he was hindu??? no mention of ashraful (at least ash has scored some runs in the last decade). however he mentioned sumon as the only "decent" batsmen of BD. sad stuff indeed.

Definitely religious factor was involved there. We know better about our batsmen than Indians would do. Kapali and Ashraful are both great batsmen of BD. In terms of capability and potential its a hard race between Kapali and Ashraful. But Ashraful is likely to take the edge over Kapali. In terms of recent performance, Ashraful is way above Kapali. Let me tell you one more, give Ashraful, Kapali, Nafis and Aftab some more time and you will see the likes or close to the likes of Tendulkar, Dravid, Sehwag and Jayasuriya emerging from them.
At the moment, the best batsmen of BD Habibul Bashar, without a doubt.

TALKING ABOUT WORLD CLASS
If you talk about world class, we have quite a lot:
1) Ashraful (marginally out of form)
2) Mohammad Rafiq
3) Habibul Bashar (slightly out of form)
4) Mehrab Hossain (currently out of form)
5) Hannan Sarkar (currently out of form)
6) Alok Kapali (slightly out of form)
7) Pilot
8) Mashrafee Mortuza
Unfortunately, we also have world class INCONSISTENCY.
ONE MILLION TIMES ZERO? RESULT IS ........
You know what I mean? Of course you know. However, we are not that bad, after all. As a matter of fact, I have always been positive about BD cricket.
** Intentionally I did not mention Nafis Iqbal and Aftab Ahmed as it is a little bit to early to class them as 'world class'. They will have enough time to show their talents in the future. And I am pretty sure, that future is not too far away....

Hope today we will score at least 150. It does not matter how many overs they have to play for that.

can't afford to stay up for all night. if NZ bats first i'll wake up at the start of the second innings. if bd bats first ......... in eihter case i'll follow bd innings as long as X is more than Y. where x is the number of over and Y is number of wicket. so, say around 5 overs. i'll be surprised if we do not loose five wicket in first five overs.

All I am hoping today from our opening pair is to survive the first couple of overs. I mean how hard it can be! It’s quite simple just standing there like a dummy will probably do the trick.

last match against nz bangladesh lost 5 wickets in 9 over. but guess what they had 51 runs. almost 6 runs an over. but lost 5 wicket. that was really sad. i think the top batsman have an inside bet going on. who will hit most 4s and 6s. that has got to be it. or else how can you have nearly 6 runs an over and lost 5 wicket within first 9 overs.
