Best use of a backyard: aquaponics garden + tiny house?

I don't own a property yet. This is more future planning/idea generation/dream...

I always wanted to have a garden in my backyard like my parents. A year or so ago I heard of aquaponics gardening, and it made sense...an ecosystem where the plants and fish grow symbiotically. Not only can you grow fresh, organic vegetables, you can harvest your own fish too. What's not to like, esp for a Bangali or anyone who likes fish.

Idea sounds nice, but has anyone seen this in practice by any chance or have an opinion?

And regarding the tiny house, it'd be for rent. Or could be an office space or a man cave.

interesting tread. Never heard of aquaponics. But seen some tiny houses on those tv shows. Dont understood the living.

btw where is your location. I don't think u can just start building houses in your backyard willy nilly - it would be a code violation. Also the cost u will encounter will rarely make sense for a rental . ppl usually do garage conversion.

Aquaponisc on the other hand sound like a fun hobby.

I looked it up. IIRC, it's allowed as long as it doesn't have wheels...so, no trailers basically lmao. Think diff states have diff rules.

There are many diff designs and you can approach building a tiny house in diff ways. Can cost very little or a lot depending on how much of your own time you put into it, the design, and how you source the materials.

I think a decent one with payback period of a year is doable if I build most of it myself.

Plumbing I can't do. Roof depends on design - may need one more person. Everything else is doable. Electricity would be solar.
