yeah i'm sure he made this tour because of anamul's absence. but if they are to try anyone other than anamul it should be shamsur, next after him would probably asif or souyma but asif hasn't really opened much the last couple of years i don't think and soumya hasn't made the big scores despite being as consistent as the other openers in contention.

That is a lot of starts! He needs to cash in once he gets a start like that.

Since Jan 2015 has scored 2,500 runs at an average of 65.7. He's knocking on the door of the Test team right now.
He's doing an Imrul and trying to force his way back into the team. He's got the advantage of already playing at an international level. Good to see some competition for the top order slots.

I think he is a mature batsman now
He should get a test call.

He always had it in him...poor shot selection and poor technique against swing got the best of him.

Good that we might have a decent 3rd/backup opener for Test now.

would love to see nafees back in the team. Always good to have experienced players back in the team as it gives the youngters a chance to learn off them. On top of that his batting would have matured alot by now as he is hitting his peak.

Deserved a call up to the squad for his ability against spin. Would have been a shootout with Shabbir. XI for the 1st test ...
1) TIK
2) Imrul
3) Mominul
4) Riyadh
5) Shahryar
6) Shakib
7) Mushy
8) Miraz/Hom
9)Taijul (though his lack of penetration in the ODIs was alarming).
10) Shafiul
11) Rabbi

^^ If it was about handling spin, Mosaddek would have won the race.
Hathuru has been eagerly searching for a legspin option and suddenly Sabbir found turn and bounce in Chittagong. Understandably, Hathuru putting a lot of hope on his bowling, besides his batting too.

Well if you see Mominul's scratchy form, there is a real risk of SN taking his spot too.

What performance from Nafees. He was so poor in bpl 1 but this time he is undoubtedly the best batsman on show.
Everytime he comes under pressure and he plays some big innings to help team gain momentum

I like the way he paced his innings. Looked to get a few singles early on and once he was set took the attack to the opposition.

Like Kayes, he deserves a comeback opportunity as he's also ripping it in domestics. But making a comeback in NZ might be brutal for him

He wasn't actually poor in last year's BPL. He had come into last year's tournament in tremendous form and then just had a couple of bad games to start with and was dropped for the entire tournament. He then got into eleven again in the semifinals and finals if I remember correctly and played two brilliant knocks in the last couple of games.

Best spin player in the country. Deserves t20i opportunity again. How MD Mithun, got in Nafees is much better T20 player than Md Mithun, Liton Das, Kayes, Soumya!

If SN is to be included in the main squad, that will have to be at expense of Soumya. The coach persisting with Soumya for NZ tour, given his past record there. But if Soumya continues with his current form, the gate should be wide open for SN from the India Test.

that was BPL3
I too feel he was harsh done in BPL 3
He got dropped and never got back into the XI before the qualifiers. I believe that he has improved his power game a lot. He plays some crunch shots. Didn't look edgy at all and I would back him to open our batting in T20s later on.
I always believe that you should have the XI which will give you the best possible chance to win. We never gave us a chance to win by playing off-form Soumya and Mithun.

Have missed all his inn so far.
As he is doing well he should be in the squad for our future tours rather than Soumya who has not looked impressive for a long time now.

Far as I can remember he wan't that good, but you need to watch a player bit more longer to understand how good is he can be.
