Default Enough is enough. No more chance for Soumya.

Soumya Sarker has been off form for a long time and hasn't improved his technique at all. The way he was giving strike to the tail-eneders and didn't dive when taking a run to save his wicket, his commitment also comes into question. He does NOT deserve any more chance. Pathetic batsman. He shouldn't be in our 2019 world cup plan.

I stand by what I said. He does NOT deserve another chance and I couldn't care less about your feelings.

He can't make a good partnership as an opener, can't score fast enough as a late order hitter, can't shield the tail-enders. What is he good for actually? When he was flown back from BD to Asia cup, that was a questionable decision anyway.

He was okay today. Not much he could do against the likes of Bumrah/Kumar at the death. So rotating strike for singles wasn’t a bad idea.

Litton has solidified 2nd opener role for a while. Sabbir is out. Imrul is too inconsistent.

So having SS for number 6 or 7 isn’t a bad idea.

Number 6 or 7 batsman is expected to score at a SR of 100 at the very least. He was just playing like there's no urgency. Was running with no purpose either. Even if he had scored a 50, we might have lost, but it's the intent that counts. He really pissed me off today.

Bumrah and Kumar are arguably the best death bowlers in the game now. And they were bowling perfect Yorkers at will. Yeah Soumya could have shown slightly more intent but that very intent cost us Mushy and Mullah and Mashs wicket.

Today, the problem wasn’t SS. It was the middle order collapse.

so he actually ended up with our second highest runs getter. But sure, lets make him the scapegoat. No mention of how imrul, mulllah, mushy let us down because.....seniors....5 pillars....blah blah blah.

I think he did okay today. he was out of team for a while, it needs time. I will give soumya, liton , sabbir, nasir a long run. they have all the abilities to become tamim-shakib-mahmudullah-mushfiq type player

.... exactly.

Imrul, mulllah, mushfiq (specially Mushfiq) gave us great performance in other games, but in this particular game, they couldn't even give us a much needed supporting role (forget about leading role).

People can always complain about SS's recent inclusion in the team (based on his recent performance), But in this particular game, if we lose, he will not be the top three reason why we lost the game.

He batted ok, quite sensibly but seems like very naive fella in general. Why he took the double and got runout. He was in allsorts of confusion in terms of running between the wickets. He has something dull-ish about him. A lot of talent but needs to get wiser upstairs (in the head)

Yeah, this 33 should secure his position for another couple of years.

I think we were frustrated and looking for our favorite scapegoat for this game.

Actually looking back to the scoreboard in this particular game, SS not only was the 2nd best run scorer, but also had the 3rd best SR (73), which was not great but not bad also based on when he came and where the team was at that time.

How good/bad was his 33 runs? He scored more than what Imrul, Mustafiz, Mithun, Mahmuduallah, Mashrafee,Nazmul, Mustafiz and Rubel scored combined ( i.e. 33 vs 29 combined).

There was accusation that he didn't provide support to his tail-enders. True. But everything needs to be in perspective. He is less experienced and struggling and cam as #7. Do you recall Maushfiq's century in this tournament? He did similar things before one handed Tamim came and Mushfiq exploded. I dont reall anybody complained at that time. My point is, our team does that occasionally, but only selectively get criticized.

SS was trying to play out 50 overs and get any runs he could get....don't see the issue

Except he couldn't do that. Ran his partner out before running himself out.

Then why did he go so leisurely for the first and try for the 2nd in that run-out! He didn't play bad today but I would still drop him. Time to give Nazmul, Mithun and Mosaddek the Zimbabwe tour to try to get something from them.

Stick with him. Key player for us.

Always contributes either by fielding, bowling, batting.

Did well today.

He has batted well but his run out was silly, lack on intent, lack of hunger.

I was baffled at his complete inability to take quick singles. He was just casually strolling down when he did, and at one stage when there was a run out opportunity with Mustafiz, he was just standing in the middle of the pitch completely clueless.

As the some BC member said before, if your gf gives you as many chances as the selectors give Soumya, marry her.

I think he did not do that bad today. He is also a good fielder. I will keep him for the Zimbabwe series.

Soumya is not a consistent player. His averages in list A and FC are 30 and 28 after playing for such a long time. I really don't expect much from him as his overall career stats suggest.

I am willing to invest on players like Liton and Mosaddek who have stats to back them.

When Tamim came to national side, he was averaging 40 in FC and 30+ in list A. He has grown from there.

I am really not willing to invest more on Soumya unless he has a faboulous domestic season to prove that he is here to stay as a top cricketer.
