Default All about Banglar Rashid Khan “Minhajul Abedin Afridi”

Too much hype about this net bowler.
He did well today against CV.
Can he be our Rashid Khan? Or just another Ram Sam Tanvir!

Didn't seem too bad. Has much better control than Jubair did as far as I can tell. One to keep an eye on.

Good to see some legspinners coming through after so long. Hope Rishad develops well too.

Afridi?!!!

Is that his screen name or his parents named him that?

As far as I know Afridi is the name of tribe in Pakistan. Only folks from that tribe are named afridi.

It is almost like Bangali guy like us are named Rahim Chakma or Karim Marma! Ridiculous!

90% Bangladeshis don’t have “indigenous names”. Bet his parents were just Afridi fans lol.

Nannu's poise and Afridi's madness. I am not sure if it would be a good combo. Best of luck.

His second over was awful altho the batsman did not take advantage... judging a bowler against a no 10 and 11 batting is hard to be honest...

I know a couple of kids being named after Tendulkar, Jayasuriya, and Afridi in my village in the late 90s-early 00s.

Haven't heard any Virat Kohli or Malinga or Masakadza tho...

Thik motto mathay paa rakhte para nai aar hoye gello Rashid Khan er sathay tullona.

Will we see a day when other countries use our player names to associate their new talent or will this hobby remain Bangladeshi for a feel good factor?

Rashid Khan is yet to succeed in Real Cricket which is Test Cricket let's not treat him like Shane Warne yet , even Umar Gul, Narine and Afridi are legends in T20 cricket

to be fair, hes also going to get very few chances in his career to prove himself as a test player. For now, you cant say that he isnt one of the best bowlers in the world.

That wicket he took was definitely a very good delivery and it was his first professional game.

Well he is 19 years old (!) so he should have a decade and half of Test Cricket left if fit , now that Afghanistan has test status. Imran Tahir also has gun record in ODIs but nobody saw him as a cricketing great or wanted a BD bowler to be the next Imran Tahir

Lol we bangalis are so extreme. Either overhype or dismiss entirely. A sensible viewpoint would be to look forward to a leg spinning talent who may steadily break into the national fold in the next 2-4 years. Kid's only 19, Jesus.

He needs to be groomed. Lots of areas to improve. But if he works hard on his skill unlike Jubair, he can go far insha Allah.
