Recent english daily interview quoted him as saying he never took training seriously and he has only himself to blame. He is still 27-28, plenty of time to correct things and serve for another 7-8 years. Wasted 6 years tho - granted we only played 20 tests in those years.

A Shahadat living up to his potential and Taskin at the other end would be better than ****!

Will be interesting to see how shahadat develops if he is taking training seriously now, he has better stats than most BD pacers even during this time of not taking training seriously, ok not great stats by all means but it shows his potential in comparison with other BD pacers.

Even if he is 28, he can never play another 8 years This will mean he will play until upto 36, which is not possible for him or most of our pacers. First lets hope he can survive another season and not get too excited.

Wary of Shahadat move. He has been given comeback opportunities before and never fell short in letting us down.

Everyone one supporting shahadat I hope they are not wrong to say he can come back. Otherwise it will be same old same old history. Which is more likely I think.

Marshall and Rubel should be in the bench.

Shahadat may or may not comeback well but if he's finally taking training seriously then it could make a difference, we've still got taskin, robiul, abul and al amin who are good prospects.

As I said in the other thread they should either have pushed mushy to 3, kept imrul or tried shadman or LKD, Marshall initially got picked off one great FC season, wasn't impressive in his run, got a century here and ther but generally inconsistent and didn't really do much in longer formats to get a recall at this moment.

But if they aren't playing mushy at 3 then marshall might have to bat there. I really don't want mominul moved, shakib is not a test #3, riyad isn't a test 3 either and hom shouldn't bat that high, marshall at least has some experience in tests in the #3 position even though he's a middle order bat to.

My guess - most likely two pacers out of four will be left out.

Marshall: it's mind boggling why he even in the squad. Hathuri did not even let him bat in the practice match (Red vs Green). He had a chance to grab in the warm up match against Zimbabwe, but only managed to irk the selectors the way he got out after making 31. From the look of things, he seems to be destined to carry drinks in the first Test.
