Money. I love everything about it. The smell, look everything. Wish I had more. That's something I would never get tired of

where u live dilscoop? in us u shouldnt be paying that much...u probably driving fancy car requiring premium grade diesal...

crude oil further went down today below 80.. opec meeting coming up soon and it will be interesting to see if they cut down supply or not...

the reason for drop is oversipply and oversupply is due to US doing drilling for shale gasoline which are more expensive to extract than crude... so shale drilling is profitable only if oil price remains high i think the break point maybe 80 dollars crude....

so there are two different thing that are threat to ur opec supplier.... one is this other source shale drill and second is ncrease use of alternate energy... so they were flooding the market with increase supply to drive down the price to price out the other guys.... thats y u dont have any movement on oil prices on middle east tensions anymore......

so it will be interesting to see whether or not opec decides to cut down production or not on next meeting....

anywyas i find this exciting u guys probably bored...... here is to long term low price gasoline...

Actually, there's a decent body of research that suggests that once you're making above $150K, added income does not add much to your happiness.

done by some poor researcher i think. I disagree.

Yes there is a threshold but i think it is different for different groups of ppl..allow me to explain:

If you are making 150, perhaps making 250 do not add to your happiness
if you making 5 million, perhaps making 10 do not add to your happiness
if you are a billionaire perhaps extra few billions here and there makes no dofference

but life will be much better and enriched if you move 150k guy to the million guy. I like basketball, i wanna be a basketball team owner, always has been my dream, how can that not make me more happy if i can afford it than missing the game as i have to work? u think ballmer paid 2b for clippers because he thought it was a great investment? NO.

eishob faltu research poira luv nai, similar to research of" lottery winnners always lose their money"..i call it bullsh*t trying to make ppl happy research.... i still wanna be rich.

But Orphy, when do you consider yourself rich, isn't that the question? I will say, though, that I feel one has to work harder and earn considerably more in the US compared to say, most countries in Western Europe in order to enjoy similar feelings of security. My admittedly subjective opinion is that there's far less of a communal safety net in the States; I've seen a couple of occasions where families gradually slid out of the middle class due to unexpected unemployment and lack of health insurance.

Aghh all the hedonistic and capitalistic desires of us. If money equated happiness then all rich men would be happy and all poor men would be drowned in misery. Life is not just for fulfilling stomach and building fancy roofs over our heads. It is not the fear of poverty that makes people insane but it is love, the passion, the insatiable longing for a beloved that drove Majnu restless for his Layla. It is this indescribable yet inescapable emotion that makes us all majnoon.

I love the early winter morning. The warm glow of the sun. The smell of fresh dews overnight. The little stroll in the balcony when she comes wearing a blue sari and stands next to me. Her beauty rivals that of the gorgeous day. The morning breeze sways her hair.
I gently remove the strand of hair bothering her eyes. She holds my hand, leans into my shoulder and takes my hand.

But these moments are very rare these days. I am spending more time at work and leaving home early again next day.

Decades go by and life moves on. I wake up in an unusual cold morning today. The sunlight doesn't creep in and wind doesn't breeze into my room anymore. I walk to the balcony and the gray monotonous new buildings stands in front of me. I decided to sell this land ten years ago because real estate was lucrative at that time and the offer from the development company was too good to ignore. I slowly go back to my room and look at the framed picture by the bedside. I notice the dimple in her smile. I almost forgot that she had that. In fact I have started to forget many things about her. In her last days the terminal illness robbed all the joy and smile from her life.

I vaguely recollect the days of our early marriage. I now walk into my vast spacious closet and look for that blue sari again. I wish, oh how much I wish, to see her one more time in that sari. I would not hesitate to give up all just to be with her again. I find the sari and bring it up close to my face to evoke any trace or any smell of her. But I can't. I am rich now but I can't have her back. I am so rich now and yet I feel so helpless and alone. I am very rich now and yet I feel very poor.
