only the first test opponent is Maharashtra Under-22 ...other than that all the matches play vs Maharashtra Ranji Team.

so they're not taking a specialist back-up keeper? hopefully saghir doesn't get injured, i wonder how good shamsur is with the gloves.

Well, it's not really a long tour. Also, Maharashtra is not that far from Dhaka, BCB can send Mithun in a day or two if a back up keeper is needed.

So, which players do you reckon will be left out from the final squad?

My picks - Nazmus, Nadif, Nazmul (Milon), and one of the other 6 pacers.

hopefully not nazmus sadat he's one of the more consistent domestic players and can hit a big ball. nadif should definitely be left out imo, tariq would be another of my picks and then maybe another pacer or imran ahmed.

In this team there r 2 pace all rounder Ziaur and Nazmul(Milon). As we dont have pace all rounder in national team Then i would like to test this two in Maratha.I think one from 4 opener is going to be discarded When the team will be declared?

Namul Millon should be given a chance at least in those three T20 matches(that's his game really)

Allrounders!!!

Milon is not much of a bowler, Zia is not much of a batsman. Here in BC, we made the allrounder tag very cheap. Any bowler that can bat a bit or any batsman that can bowl a bit is now being called an allrounder here!

We should be looking for genuine pacers, not bits and piece allrounders.

agree that here in BC the allrounder tag is given to a player very easily. from the little i've seen of milon i agree from the little i've seen that he doesn't look like much of a bowler and even his batting only looks as good as mash's but the thing is this guy has an incredible strike rate in list A's and a decent average (though his average and strike rate use to be much better) and in FC matches despite not having many wickets for the number of matches he's played he has an incredible strike rate. i don't think milon is the answer to the pacer allrounder needs of the national team but he's done pretty decent domestically so i think he does deserve a few chances in the A team or at least the academy team.

as for ziaur, he hasn't got much of a batting record but his fan club have raved about his hitting ability on occassion, still, he's a bowler who can handle the bat on a good day imo because consistency is the most important thing in cricket so just having the skills doesn't make you a good player.

BCB revises Maharashtra itinerary

http://www.newagebd.com/2009/sep/14/spt.html

The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday revised the schedules of the ‘A’ team’s tour to Maharashtra to facilitate the players to participate in the upcoming Premier Twenty20 League slated to begin on October 10.

According to the revised itinerary, the team will play two one-dayers and two Twenty20 matches instead of three and will return home on October 13, three days before than the previous schedule.

The first four-day match of the tour was also trimmed down to a three-day match, said the BCB officials.
‘We have received a request from the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis to cut short the tour and the itinerary has been revised accordingly,’ said a BCB official.

The BCB also revised the transfer date for ‘A’ team players for the tour. The inter-club players’ transfer will begin formally on September 29, but the ‘A’ team players can complete their registration on September 16. The team will leave home on September 25.

Zimbabwe is trying to come with stronger team so this A team tour will get additional value. We need to extract players from A team for repair works at national team.We need to select replacement 3rd openner from N.Iqbal,Hannan and Imrul.Shamsur for standby at one down.Hope Milon and Ziaur can meet up pace all rounder post. There will be great contest between Razzak and Sohrawarthy.Batting is plus point for Shuvo and ODI bowling strike rate is plus point for Razzak.Hope Doller will continue his last form.
Rajin will get chance to prove his longer version ability, same to Shahadat.
I think selector has selected almost the best from the lot though i feel sorry for Sajidul. Our selector think Talha and Ziur better than Sajidul.May be Ziur got benefit of batting ability.Lets see how Talha and Ziur do.Inclusion of Razzak seems to be good thinking as well because he will get chance to prove his ability in longer version. He will get some short version match practice as well.
Maratha Ronji team is very strong may be better than ZIMBABWE team.So all the players will have to work hard.Best of luck BD-A team boys.

In a report about A team at desh tv Hannan sarkar said A-team culture is not strong in our country. Where as this culture is very strong in top level teams. He also said so if some one gets out from national team it becomes tough for him to come back to national side.
Personally i feel it very much, several time our selectors selects unripen players for national team and through them out.So I think tours for the A team should be regular to revitalize our players and make ready the replacement team.
