All this year we were trying to find a suitable partner for Tamim and now he himself is out of form. Fitness level is down the gutter too. Bro has more Buri than haturi

The way Tamim chokes during World Cups, he should be the last person to be hopeful about. He should have let Naim play the series while working on his fitness. Instead of giving the chance to a backup player, like a typical Bangladeshi senior player. Tamim is now trying to hold on to his spot by any means.

Nope, AFG is already far ahead of the DL target (66 runs). If the play does not resume, they will win anyway.

Jettay bolislam; Afghan won.

Pathetic batting from the BD top order. Some of them getting out to soft dismals. Fielding isnt as good as it used to be.

I just hope we dont get white washed in both formats. Afghan spinners on these pitches are quite deadly.

With his current form, he is a passenger in the team. Is it out of the box to say that Shakib might actually captain this team in WC?
Tamim should really retire gracefully from ODIs. I think we will only see the back of him after the WC as a curtain fall.

Time to make way for new players, thinking of the long run.

Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan by 9 wickets and 132 runs. Meanwhile we continue to lose against Afghanistan year after year.

Afg also won the first match very convincingly too

SL came back really strong..let's see how we do..but I am not sure we'll have a 50 over game in any match with all the rain around

Does that mean Naim will be included in the team instead of Tamim?

As I dont think there is a need to take on another bowler and there are no all rounders to pick.

One of the Tamim's bravest moment is when he came back to the crease with an injured arm to play against Sri Lanka and Mushfiqur got inspired and went berserk.

The Sri Lankan bowlers didnt go easy and bowled a bouncer against Tamim.

Honestly speaking, even liton das isn't worthy to replace half fit Tamim yet, and we here discussing about naim as his replacement in the WC. Or even worst, if that idiot coach brings back Sharkar as his replacement. Out of disappointment I don't feel like watching this rest of the series.

Just as I thought, Talukdar makes the team.

This is more shocking than Tamim retiring.

This implies we really don’t have any opener options.

I would take andha Tamim in place of talukdar

That is the truth, andha lengra Tamim still is better than talukdar naim and all the jodu modu openers that have played for BD

Best of luck to Naim. As usual, Papon mishandled the media. But, IMO, Hathuru was justified to be angry at an unfit and out form Tamim to deprive Naim of an opportunity to prove himself in this series. Wish we could have avoided all those dramas. Still hope Naim can make the best of the opportunity that has come to him.

Yes best wishes to naim, he doing good is best for him and for us but I am not optimistic. Tamim had the role of anchor in the top which is kinda outdated in modern cricket yet tamim played that role considering our batting. Now naim will have tamim's role and he has one third the talent and thinking capacity that Tamim has. Tamim while blocking at start, could at least get some of the RR back after getting set, I fail to see naim do that

But I hope I am wrong

Wow - speaking of emotional deshis.....

Good decision? hopefully. I want to see Tamim in Asia Cup and WC and get a proper good bye from the team and the fans.

You can't really compare an experience campaigner like Tamim with Naim. The first 3 years of Tamim careers he was "dancing down the wicket and getting out" kind of guy before converting to slow-mim.

ODI may suit Naim, and I don't think he will do much worse than Tamim.

To be honest and being as much optimistic as possible - I have seen some good innings from Naim, although rare - its time to prove that he can consistently perform at that level.

Rony probably is better - love his aggressiveness but sometimes too often. Once again a chance to prove he is worth the choice.

Rony doesn't have the technique to survive good fast bowling, naim is better in that sense..rony belongs in the 2003 BD team
