Messi has surpassed Maradona in club football. However he still has a lot to prove on the International stage. He can not be bracketed alongside Pele, Zidane and Maradona until he guides his country to the World Cup. Keep in mind that when playing for Barcelona he has two of the World's best midfielders in Xavi and Iniesta to feed him top quality balls all day long. He doesn't have the same luxury while wearing the Argentine shirt. So if he is to be among the best ever he needs to prove he can score goals anywhere and everywhere. The World Cup will be his acid test. But yes he is easily the best of his generation. Wahayy better than C. Ronaldo. Only player who even come close to him is Ronalidhinho (2002-2005), that is if you consider him to be of this generation.

messi plays in a barcelona team where he is supported by lots of world class players.

maradona did not have that support in NAPOLI. he single handedly took napoli to title when juventus milan were dominating the italian league.

can messi go to bilbao or sevilla and end the domination of real or barca in spanish ???

Canigia...the master of cheating of all time in soccer. Second one...Diego's hand of God.
I support no more that once I used to. They use cheating more than their talents and technics in winning games.

Sadly the faggotry is quite infectious. Messi who grew up in Barcelona, needs to get Spanish citizenship before needlessly infecting himself further.

Messi is messed up, he'll soon be into drugs like Madonna and gain 200 lbs in no time. Argentina is overrated, they'll not even advance in the second round.

Defence is too weak. Goalkeeper may be weakest link. Midfield also seems hopeless with proven losers like Veron and Maxi Rodriguez. Javier Macherano wont be effective. There is no balanced backup for their fantastic attacks. The service of Riquelme needed who would probably can play Xavi's and Guti's business respectively for Messi and Higuaine.

They will go with three up front. Messi and Tevez are certain with Milito, Aguero and Higuain battling for the third spot. Higuain is the favourite though. If Mascherano slips up their defence will be murdered.

Star player: Lionel Messi
Players to watch: Carlos Tevez, Javier Mascherano, Sergio Aguero

Prediction: Semi-finalists.
