6/8 packs mean they are in shape, not fit. To be fit as an athlete, you have to have good stamina, agility, endurance, balance etc. You can be build as a stud, but if you run out of breath after taking a lap, if you can't move around freely, you are not fit. Best example, Chris Gayle. He's a powerful guy, he's super built for a cricketer, but have you seen him run? He's stiff, slow, can't run a triple without falling over. Some of the running backs (+/- 5'10", 200+ lb) in the NFL are way more built than he is, yet they are super agile. Even the Linebackers (+/- 6'2", 250 lb) are more fit than him. On the other hand, check out this fat ball player Pablo Sandoval with zero packs, he's fitter than Tamim. Tamim couldn't do half of those moves from the clip. But PS isn't in shape.

That's what I am saying...

A lot of these 6 or 8 packs are actually painted on these Bollywood "actors". Seen it myself in a documentary.

Being fit and being in shape seem the same to me tbh. I hate confusing terminology.

Once upon a time, a Bangladeshi friend's Bangladeshi mom, meeting me after 4 years, said, "Baba tumi toh onek manly howe gecho."

I was very concerned that night, couldn't go to sleep. Kept waking up to check my waistline in the mirror.

Bottom line: If an auntie thinks you're manly, she's likely saying your gut grew big. To them, bhuri holo Bangali purusher gorbo. So Tamim/Aftab don't worry, you guys are shmekshy in a Bangali way.

Another problem our cricketers face is that many of them reside in small towns or villages, though some of them come over to Dhaka permanently.

Its highly unlikely that you will find a proper gym outside Dhaka and Chittagong. A swimming pool is out of the question. Dhaka may have plenty of Gyms and swimming pools, the travel time itself can sometimes be a huge problem. So basically, someone will have to spent 2 hours of traffic jam to do a few hours of gym. I know they are professional cricketers, but the lack of facilities is a massive factor.

swimming pools being an issue in Bangladesh

Eishob fancy swimming pool-tool laagbe naa. Graam-e, bari-te bari-te pukur - they can swim and fish at the same time. No entry/membership fees - no sir, your silver membership means after certain hours you can't go into the gym( F U Golds Gym), no horrid smell of chlorine, and no danger of it being dangerously crowded

Look, i am talking about our professional cricketers, not average Bangalis.

I dont think they will enjoy swimming for 3 hours on a "pukur" that serves as a dumping ground if you know what I mean.

Some of the bodybuilders I've met in my gym are the most unfit, can't even run for 10 mins in the treadmill.

On the other hand, some of the athletes in track & field look skinny and malnourished, however they are some of the fittest guys in sports. Perhaps the fittest guys in all sports combined are the F1 drivers, and they doesn't look super strong or anything.

Sportsmen/sportswomen normally focus more on endurance training rather than strength training. Of course there are certain exceptions like weightlifting, where it's the other way round.

There's no better overall workout than swimming in the river with its waves, undercurrents and mutant fish. Obviously this isn't recommended for weak-willed/sissies playing cricket in Bangladesh. Although ATMR cracking the whip from an escorting boat may cure them of some of that unless they die first.

Depending on how you use the weights you can train for power, strength or endurance, just got to tailor your workout for the desired outcome.
