Hope that SN opens with Tamim. Inconsistency is BD's weakness, hope they do not panic which they tend to do so often and they can have nerves of steel to face these 2 strong teams.
Here's wishing them best of luck that they play good cricket.

Nazmul Hossain injured himself during practise and has been ruled out of the tri-series. Shahadat Hossain to replace him.

i am shocked. how we will pass this exam without our current two best bowler.
I hope BCB tactically kept Mash out of squad and we will see him playing 1st ODI.

The number of injuries seem to be high for BD. I think that the performance of fitness and training staff should be examined.

This sure puts more pressure on the newcomer(s), e.g., Shafiul.

All three are missing key players with injury.

This is because of the commercialization of the game. No time for rest.

That is one aspect, sure. However, other teams are also playing a lot of matches. If you did a statistical analysis, you will see that injury has increased over the past two decades for every team; however, our players are getting injured quite a bit more often (even more overall than other subcontinental teams). Someone is dropping the ball...

So looks like we'll have to rely quite heavily on Rasel, Rubel and Shafiul for our pace bowling needs. Damn.

actually BD team plays less cricket overall than other teams. the main reason in my opinion is that the domestic leagues are not grueling enough to harden the players.

the fitness regimen of the players also need careful attention.

Yep

Nazmul's DPL team, Gazi Tank, got out of the league weeks ago. He broke down just after a week in the prep camp - that goes to show how poor his fitness is.

So without Nazmul, the bowling is a bit weakened. Guess the best of our domestic bowlers will get a go.

Here's my preferred team:
1. Tamim 2. Imrul 3. Rakibul 4. Sakib 5. Ashraful 6. Mushfique 7. Naeem 8. Razzak 9. Rubel 10.Rasel 11. Shafiul. 12th: Shahriar Nafees

Rubel has the potential to make or break any game in a spell, but may not be able to finish 10 overs. Rasel is experienced and has tied up an end in the past. However, nowadays he seems out of form and may not be able to complete his quota if he starts getting a thrashing. Shafiul wants to be a line and length bowler but will be debuting.

Imrul should be the 2nd opener as he is the onlyu opener out of him, Shahriar and Aftab. Opening is a specialist role and you cannot pick anyone. If Shahriar plays, it should be at number 3 and at the expense of Rasel or Shafiul. Rakib, with his technique should try at No.3 if Nafees doesn't play. I don't like the idea of Ash at no.3, esp. with a new 2nd opener.

So our fastest bowler's biggest headache is Murali. HHS.

You sound seriously outdated. Over a decade ago Jayasuriya-Kaluwitharana pair started the trend of using make shift openers for ODI - the trend of using your power hitters from middle order to open. Nowadays almost every team uses one or two make shift openers. Even in Test matches, we are now seeing use of make shift openers (Dilshan, Watson).
