the captain and shabbir got out at bad times, so did tasamul and anamul didn't fire in either of the matches (practice matches don't count). amit is pretty useless, never seen him play and he could have tendulkar like talent for all i care but he just doesn't make runs.

same here T_E bhai....didn't follow the match ...but since morning I was thinking about this match.....then when I got a chance to look at the headlines of bdnews I was like noooooooooooo!! just went through the last few pages of this match thread (which was a big mistake) .....now I'm feeling so sad...even India 85/3 is not bringing enough smile on my face!! why it is happening every u-19 WC??!! anyways, hope we will get pass pakistan and eventually go to next round. Nope. Let's not be down people. Let's go all out at Pakistan. If we win against them, then we should be through. That's coz it's less likely (not impossible) that WI add +3.50 to the NRR, even against PNG.

Mahmudul allows the opposition to get away after having them by their necks yet again - two days in a row. The coach needs to have a serious talk with him. Good news NRR wise we are still top of Group D. We need PNG to put up a strong resistance against Pakistan and the Windies. If their matches are rained out then it is even better. We need to go all out against Pakistan. I still cannot digest how we could lose when we needed only 1 run and had two relatively well settled batsmen in the crease. I would be much more upset had Shakib and Shahadat not made my day.

Last WC, the boys won all their group matches, but then collapsed to SA when they progressed. This is a much better WI team and they have been training very hard in the last 6 months.

I cant see how WI cannot wallop PNG, if BD allowed 5 batsmen to score nearly 50 and over, we know these guys are hard hitters, so PNG will get thrashed. BD,s only hope is that they beat Pakistan.

Absolutely gutted!! I felt we conceded 20-30 runs too much in the first place. When you have a team at 109-4 off 29 overs they shouldn't reach 250. We need to learn to finish teams off! It's just like the PNG match 52-5 and then they reach 190!! wtf!

Does anyone know what the permutations are if we beat Pakistan? How much do we need to beat them by if we're to go through on NRR?

If we beat Pakistan, I think we are in the next round. If we lose by less than 40, WI will need to beat PNG. If we lose a close match, WI will really need to score at a high RR in addition to beating PNG.

So, we may still make it...

It's very important to keep the RR high. Say, if we bat first and score 300, WI's task may be hard even if we lose. If we win, WI is likely out.

If we beat Pakistan, WI will have to beat PNG and have an RR of at least 8. If PNG beats WI, then it becomes a lot more dicey.
